      This is just one corner of my garage. My man cave isn't fancy, but I do have a freezer, a fridge, an ice maker, and a stove. I can also heat it in the winter. Not bad, eh?

    I gotta say, this was a fantastic review. I was on the fence about buying this oven but your review literally showed me everything I was curious about, and you even delved deep into stuff most reviewers don't even bother mentioning. You are really good when it comes to laying out details and your review was extremely helpful. Keep up the great work man.

    Great review. Remodeling my kitchen and will likely get this oven. Similar to your garage setup, I put a second kitchen in my basement and my GE oven down there has the PROOF mode like this LG. If you bake bread or do anything where you need your dough to rise in the perfect environment, the Proof mode is a gift from heaven! Will never buy another oven without it.

    Thanks for the review. It's nice to see hands on usage of something you're considering buying.
    I read the purple color is due to an enameling process that makes the oven "non-stick" so you can clean it easier; not sure if this is true or not.

      I think the only thing I don't like about it is that the controls knobs get dirty really easy, or perhaps I am just a messy cook. They are easy to pull off and clean around though.

    Question for this, is the relay switch very loud when the oven is going up on temp, any clicking sound or anything as the oven heats up? Have a samsung and i can hear it in the living room!

    For those that have these in their kitchens. I've noticed there is side lip to overlay with the counter. Is there any issue with crumbs falling in between the stone and counter top?

    • @FernbarkFrist

      Yes. You can get strips that go between the stove and the counter to keep it to a minimum though. Not too expensive either.

    I am thinking about getting one of these... convection or not with the burner at the back instead of the bottom would it not cook one side faster?

    • @FernbarkFrist
      @FernbarkFrist  6 років тому

      If you do bake mode, it would be better if it was heat from the bottom, but actually, I don't notice much difference. In convection mode, the way they have it is way better than other convection ovens. It is a little faster cooking than my other conventional only oven, so that is kind of nice. Looking forward to putting a turkey in there for convection bake in a week or so.

    Hey! I got this range about 1 month ago and noticed somethind. When using the "BAKE" or "CONVENTION BAKE" option in the oven, I get a bunch of intermittent clicks and the broiler keeps turning on & off for 2-3 seconds... I can see a red glow within the oven when it turns on, but it switches off immediately after. This goes on for the entire baking period. Everytime the broiler turns on, the oven relay clicks. It's a clicking symphony... enough to drive you nuts. Did you notice that behavior as well? I contacted LG, and they claim the clicking is part of normal operations". I wonder though why the broiler element kicks in . Thanks!

    You are irked by the best feature of the entire unit! Oh hell i just saw the Packers shirt. No wonder you hate purple! Here's my question: how long does it take for a red hot burner to be able to be touched by hand after turning it off? This to me is a fundamental question for all stoves and yet nobody asks and nobody tells.

    • @FernbarkFrist
      @FernbarkFrist  6 років тому

      I have no idea how long it takes to cool down. It probably varies widely based on how hot you were running it and for how long.

    • @matth1145
      @matth1145 4 роки тому

      if nobody is asking or telling, maybe it's not fundamental lol.

    • @opentrunk
      @opentrunk 4 роки тому

      @@matth1145 I can finally explain what I was confused about. After always having coil top stoves I had heard about glass tops that cool off instantly when you turn the burner off. So i thought all or most glass tops did that but i was wrong. It turns out only induction stoves do that and they are rare and need special pans etc. So really 99% of the glass tops don't get cool any faster than coil tops and apparently i was the only person who didn't know that. So that's the long & boring backstory.

      Why did you decide away from gas? The air pollution?

    • @LemonySnicket-EUC
      @LemonySnicket-EUC 6 років тому

      razz P for me it's easier to clean and offers counter space when not in use unlike gas..... induction also wastes less energy as it is much more efficient at getting heat straight to the cookware rather than filling my cook area with heat like gas does. About 40% of gas actually heats the pan where induction is almost double that at 80% or so. I'm no chef. Just an at home style cook. I'm using All-clad Copper Core cookware and I am very impressed.

    • @raczyk
      @raczyk 6 років тому

      Electric is more efficient, but electricity is more expensive. Believe the cost of gas is 1/3 of gas, so not sure how much actual savings one gets there. My biggest concern is that gas eats up oxygen in the house and also pollutes the air inside the house due to not all the gas being burned up.
      For induction vs electrical, I'm not sure which gives off more EMF radiation.

    • @LemonySnicket-EUC
      @LemonySnicket-EUC 6 років тому +1

      razz P induction is a different animal all together. Boils water in a pretty big pot in only a few minutes. As for gas they now have better orifices that help burn the gas more efficiently as to limit pollution. Good luck with your decision. Get what's best for you and enjoy.
