    Thanks for the shout out Luke. I try really hard to source high-quality, original products to show my audience. As you mentioned there are a lot of quality products coming from China especially if they are USA designed. In most cases the knock-offs just aren't worth it. Unfortunately with free product comes laziness in fully testing which is what you see on many channels. Have a great new year!

    Luke, when you do the rain test in the future, could you do it in a sloped location like this? I was looking forward to seeing how an open bottom tent with just a ground tarp did with rain water running under it. I've been in some bathtub bottom tents that literally rippled with water rushing under it in heavy rain and have always been skeptical of any tarp shelter or open bottom tent because I have assumed the water flow could be ridiculous, causing a big mess. Boy Scout manuals from my youth used to encourage digging a trench around the tent bottom to divert water around the tent if it was pitched on a slope. The "leave no trace" movement has changed that recommendation, I think. So how do you deal with it? I'm glad you got to enjoy your trip with a rain free night, but I was actually hoping for a deluge once I saw the set up your were planning to use. Looking forward to the shed series.

    • @CrimeVid
      @CrimeVid 2 роки тому +1

      @@CrimeVid I see where that would work, but what if no humps are around? How bad would it be on a sloped site? And BTW I personally don't think digging a trench is destructive to the forest, I just think that it may not be encouraged in the BSA these days. If I'm wrong tell me.

      Carbon monoxide builds up gradually in your system and accumulates in small quantities over time. Many people think if it didn't kill you in your sleep, you did alright. Yay cabin build, that's super cool and sounds like an awesome project!
    And excellent tent pegs, I've been using similar design and size for many years now and we have super hard ground in our forests with many rocks, and they never let me down in rain or storms or whatever, held everything together perfectly, never broke or bended, they're super light weight and durable... not sure how you're using them. BTW, you don't supposed to push a piece of metal with your bare hands, no logic in that. Just use your axe, hammer, log, rock or whatever to peg them down. I really like them, they're good.

    If you want to step up your Mr Buddy game, they make a heater with a cylindrical heating element that will cover a 180 degree area; I think that would refer to radiant heat, since convection is the way that most heat seems to fill up a tent. In addition to 11,000 BTU's, they have a cooking element that has a hose that snaps into a port on the heater; one connection to a propane tank gives you both heat and the ability to cook food. Pretty nice to have in camp or if there is a major power outage.

    Luke, your videos are excellent. Good stuff. The Mr Heater Buddy heater series of products are excellent and SAFE for tent use as you noted. I have two of them and used them several times hunting. A couple of things to note however for those new to the game. NOT all propane space heaters are safe for indoor or tent use. In fact, MOST are not. Mr. Heater makes other products other than the Buddy series. READ THE PRODUCT INFORMATION. Second - a good safety tip is to put the remote 20lb tank outside of the tent or structure. To each his own, but I've always done this as a additional ounce of protection. Keep the videos coming... cheers

    One camp coffee tip when using this manner of triangular filter; use only about 20% of your water for the cup and let the coffee ‘bloom’ for 30 seconds. Then pour the rest of the water slowly 1/2 at a time. If you are using good freshly ground coffee the flavour is noticeably enhanced. Happy camp brews folks.

    Hi Luke! Hope you ok. Those tent stakes looks like the same as mines. (for my msr one person tent) Push them down with foot. Easy. I don't know if You recognize yet, but those little cords on the ends actually are fluorescent? Really visible in headlight light in the night. Plus easy take them out if you pull the loop. All the best S&H, Tom.

    The Lil' Buddy Heater: I have a couple and they are the greatest thing --- I can put one in the motorhome and run it for about a week solid on low on a tank of propane. BUT: One was destroyed ---- by contaminated propane. Those tanks sometimes get oil in them (probably from the propane pumps that service stations use when they fill them). If the oil gets into your Buddy. it will clog the orifices and destroy the heater. Buddy makes a screw-on filter for around ten bucks. Worth every penny of it --- there is nothing like lighting your Buddy only to have it become non-functional when you want it. BTW: I use the 'Lil Buddy', which is a slightly smaller version than yours. Way better for a tent or small trailer/motorhome.

    Awesome intro music, kinda scary 😨. Love the hot tent. 🔥 my son at 12 years old had shingles covering his entire scalp and head, he is 33 years old now, and he still is affected by it.

    You mentioned thermometer, it reminded me, I bought a pack of 10 smaller keychain style thermometers, less than a buck a piece I think, anyhow, I attached them to my tents so I can see inside temps pretty quickly. When I winter camp I usually have my digital outside/indoor remotes so I can see and show people what the difference is :) Take care!!! thanks for another great video

    I got shingles last year a month after getting covid. I was 27 at the time. It really sucked. It stayed numb in some areas but thank God I only got it on my left side lower back to my abdomen. It left some scars since mine blistered really bad. Glad to see you're okay.

    My wife's shingles came on her birthday, Sept 24, 2018 and she still has the pain. Put a pain pump in and it helped restless legs, migraines but no help for shingles. It's terrible. Needlessly to say, I took all the shingles shots and will take any new shingles vaccines after seeing her condition. I pray yours will ease up like most do after shingles.
