Although I believe that my beloved Sooners will be much improved, after what happened last year, I don't think it'd be considered too much of a shock if the Ponies pull it off.
First time watching something from this channel. Curious if Billy's external mic was on/working based on that audio quality and acoustics. Maybe there were some technical difficulties going on that went unnoticed in the moment. Looking forward to hearing this discussion though.
OU fan, looking forward to the game. SMU will be one of the better offenses OU faces this year. Butch Davis said OU on the field was not the same team they watched on film from last year. SMU’s front line players are good, as soon as the 2nd line gets in watch Lebby go fast and not let SMU sub. OU has the depth now, thinking 51-17. Boomer!
On paper for sure, but they don't play on paper. ❤️ my Sooners and win or lose, I always will 💙 . But after last year, I'm taking a wait and see attitude. As a fan, I'm hoping for the best. But I'll be more than satisfied just to see at least some improvement over last year.
folks do not remember how SCARY OU'S DEFENSE WAS !!! Switzer and Stoops both fielded defenses that opposing teams didn't want to play !!! I CAN REMEMBER OPPOSING COACHES HOLDING OUT THEIR STARTERS BECAUSE THEY WERE AFRAID THEY WOULD-GET HURT !! IOWA STATE COMES TO MIND !!! I REMEMBER OU STARTERS SITTING THE BENCH AT HALF TIME BECAUSE THE STARTERS WOULD RUN UP THE SCORE!!
Was Oklahoma's defense that bad or was it, they only had one holding call go their way all season and a bowl game. That's right, our DL only had ONE holding call go their way all season and a bowl game. We all know games are won and lost in the trenches. The big 12 and their corrupt part time help, referees gave our opponents the winning lottery tickets. Wouldn't it be great to know the referees wasn't going to call holding on your OL. This can only happen if you're games are being rigged. I've asked gabe, teddy, on3, sooner insider, espn, fox, uncle Lou and many others, no one wants to answer, why, the big 12 is rigging games. BOOMER SOONER
Yes our defense was that bad. We had too many blown coverages and missed run gaps. When the coverage/gaps got better the lack of depth led to starters getting gassed
Not to be nasty, but I can't stand fans who go out of their way to blame the Zebras for loses. It always comes across as excuse making. 🙄 Are refs perfect? Do refs make mistakes? Do refs occasionally have rough games where they can't seem to get anything right? 🤔 No. Yes. And yes. Why? Because they're human beings!!! These idiotic claims of biased officials intentionally favoring one side over the other are asinine. They wouldn't have a job for very long if they were caught doing that. At both the college and pro levels, officials make a boat load of money. Do you actually believe that they would risk that just for the sake of some personal bias? 🤔 Refs and umps are held to extremely high standards. And should they perform too far beneath those set standards, they are severely punished by their respective league offices. They either get fired or they pay a pretty high financial penalty. They are also incentivied by huge bonuses for post-season work. And only those who grade out the highest get to call the post-season. So yeah, you're right. They would risk all of that just for the sake of personal bias. 🙄 Give me a break for crying out loud!
This is the first season I can remember where OU doesn’t have a clear top dog at receiver and tight end. That alone makes me feel like SMU has a chance to surprise people
After the first game, I know it was against Arkansas State but now you have a real view of what you’re up against. I don’t blame the country for underestimating OU but SMU is going to get a taste of a new hungry and consistent program.
Buried into resting commentary but it's pretty obvious he doesn't cover oklahoma as his primary team.... How does he not know about the praise that Austin stognor's getting at the tight end positi in camp? How much faster how much complete he looks... And when Jackson arrows wide receivers drop the ball? It's the receivers fall but if Dylan Gabriel's wide receivers dropped the ball. It's still in Gabriel's fault foreign to Josh..... And then he just made stuff up that a division to line backers going to start at Oklahoma. Nobody has said that not even close. 2? Hes the? Only. One? How does he walk forget about running back and Walker or the senior?....
While the SMU was dissing the Sooners defense, he failed to note how many very good players they lost to the transfer portal after Lincoln Riley bolted to USC. I was afraid we wouldn't have enough players to field a team at all. We had people suiting up to play that had never taken a snap in a real game. We'll see how they line up against the pony's.
@dallasmustang11 ❤️ my Sooners, and although there weren't many, there were some pretty poor defenses under Coach Stoops as well. But comparatively speaking, I will agree that none of them were as bad as what Coach Lincoln fielded.
ONE THING I WILL ALWAYS CREDIT LR WITH ! HE WOULD SAY " IF OUR OFFENSE IS TOO DIFFICULT FOR PLAYERS TO UNDERSTAND, then we a playing the wrong-offense " !! I'M SURE THAT GOES FOR DEFENSE AS WELL !! SO BOTH OU's OFFENSE AND DEFENSE WER TOO COMPLICATED IN 2022 !!!! Example:OU HAD TO START A TE AT QB IN THE TEXAS GAME BECAUSE WE DIDN'T HAVE A NUMBER 2 QB ???? ANY OF THOSE GUYS COULD HAVE PLAYED QB IN LR SYSTEM ?? SAME WITH DEFENSE, TOO COMPLICATED FOR THOSE CATS TO GRASP IN ONE SEASON ?? MAYBE BY YEAR TWO THEY WILL GET THE SYSTEM ?? THEY SHOULD AND THAT WILL REALLY REALLY HELP !!! IT MUST BE REALLY DIFFICULT TO RUN THAT " GO FAST OFFENSE " ON BOTH THE OFFENSE AND DEFENSE !!!!! THAT REALLY SHOWED UP IN LB PLAY !!! OUR LB WOULD PLAY 90 SNAPS PER GAME BECAUSE NO DEPTH AT THAT POSITION !! SO BOTTOM LINE-FOR OU IS DEPTH DEPTH AND MORE DEPTH !!! WE SHOULD BE MUCH BETTER IN 2023 BECAUSE OF DEPTH !!!
52 Oklahoma
13 smu
OU is on the "whos your Daddy Tour" this year!
Anybody that hasn't watched the sound of freedom needs to great movie!
SMU will shock the world. #PonyUpDallas 🐎 #SamePonyNewExpress

Josh was being nice. This one isn’t going to be close…
Haha that’s what we want y’all to think.
I was at the last SMU at OU right before they got the Death Penalty.
The Sooners are going to whup the pony’s ass
Looking forward to this one...SMU back in the big leagues! Well..next year, but still...

Y’all wild
SMU has a lot of seniors and the qb and receivers, TE, and rbs are good. This wont be a cake walk. Boomer
OU should take this one like 37-28
lack of depth on defense played alot on why we were losing so much.
What about Gibson and Anderson @WR?

SMU will win. High scoring game. OU won't be able to keep up with the deep ball.
Don't sleep on Marcus Major. He's a dark horse, but IF he puts it all together he could end up the bell cow...
It should of been georgia not SMU

Okay well OU has been bad on defense since the end of the stoops era.
