    Picked this up on palmetto for 299 couldn't beat the deal over Christmas

      299 ! That’s fantastic. Honestly at that price point i almost think every one should pick one up. If even to only have it as a curio slash fun gun at the range.

      How’s it shoot? Do you have any problems with any failures to load? if so, is it a certain grain of bullet?

    I've had a lot of 1911s over the years. It's as good as the springfield loaded I had without the nice finish. Better than the Gi I had. 300 bucks is a steal. It's a good gun.

      Good to hear, I’ve hear really good reports for these guns. They are cheap enough that almost anyone can afford to add one to their collection

    Tisas is killing it with the quality . I have this same model 1911 from them and a px-9 night stalker and both of them are nice guns

      @@Conklikov I love it comes with everything you might expect from a high end gun not saying it lacks quality because it seems to be there trigger pull is excellent.

    The Tisas is NOT A CHEAP GUN. It is an inexpensive gun. Cheap refers to quality and the Tisas is very high quality that will match or exceed that of a lot of more American made expensive guns.

    • @Conklikov

      Oh I agree quality is fantastic I was referencing strictly in terms of cost when I said cheap.

    Oh and only thing not metal on that gun is the grips
    Oh in my opinion I wouldn’t buy any 1911 cheaper than a dan Wesson other than tisas. Don’t own a dan Wesson yet though lol

    • @Conklikov
      @Conklikov  10 місяців тому +2

      Ya I’ve eyed a few Dan wessons at the gun store but can never pull the trigger on purchasing them. That said tisas in my mind has outshined rock island as a good entry level 1911. Everything on the tisas are better. I will be getting more in the future. Tisas also is not afraid to try new designs and models either

    I got the 1911 A1 GI model a few weeks ago from palmetto and it’s great! I see palmetto is sold out now so people are buying them up quick! With the Wilson combat mags this gun runs HST and Gold Dot 👍🏼 I’m glad I got one because they’re a steal
    Easily worth 7-800$

      I don’t know what I would do with 2 identical guns but you’re right for that price I’d buy two as well. I suppose one could get one to keep stock and another to practice tuning or modifying parts and build it up into an even nicer gun

    Just picked one up yesterday. Really excited about it and can’t wait to shoot it. I’m not a 1911 officianado but I know a well made gun when I see it. Fit and finish is excellent. Forged frame and slide is a plus. And for the price?? Couldn’t pass it up! By the way the word “cheap” connotes an inferior product. I prefer the term “inexpensive” in the case of the Tisas 1911 line as they’re certainly not an inferior product. IMO it is an excellent entry level 1911. No fancy bells and whistles, etc… just a “no holds barred” 1911 pistol that will perform as needed.

    • @Conklikov
      @Conklikov  4 місяці тому

      Ya cheap is a bit of a misnomer, but probably affordable is best word to describe. I think you will really like this pistol as I have. I think the tisas service are great starter 1911. Easy to add a few creature comforts and you end up with a very compelling entry level 1911. I do wish tisas would offer an officer sized 1911 in the service line for an affordable 45 acp carry gun.

    This is exactly what I want for my 1st 1911 in .45, in black and all. PSA has them on Special Deals for three twenty-nine and I have failed thus far to jump on it, yet before the end of the year. I have a problem curbing my spending and collecting guns. It;s always something or another that I think I need to have. But how can I pass this deal up on a nice quality gun for the pricel? As they say. 'Just get it'

    • @Conklikov
      @Conklikov  8 місяців тому

      Hey I can’t agree more. And you wouldn’t be disappointed in this tisas at all. Solid starter 1911. If your wanting one and don’t want to break the bank I’d go for it. To be devils advocate I don’t think you can get a 1911 cheaper. In time I am sure tisas will increase prices as better acceptance of them on the market.

    Picked it up the other day. I had it jam on me several times. Is it because of the range ammo? It was like the brass was to big for the barrel.

    • @Conklikov
      @Conklikov  12 днів тому

      It is possible that the brass wasn’t sized down properly. But it’s also possible that barrel was messed up from factory. I’d tend to beleive the ammo one mostly. I’d get some different ammo a try. If it still doesn’t fit then I would have a gunsmith take a look at it to see if gun is messed up

  • @grantnoble9978

    I got one and the slide to frame fit is a loose mil-spec at .005-.007in. Very good trigger. Perfect finish but faint grind marks on frame flats under the finish. Good barrel fit but slight hood spring due to being a little loose vertically. Safety over travel when clicking off but works. Very good buy if you don’t mind a loose fit. Wear the finish off the slide rails, remove the magazine and cock it to check the slide fit. Mine felt much tighter when I inspected it new. I only have a box through it now. You may get a little better but they all aren’t tight.

    • @Conklikov
      @Conklikov  8 місяців тому +1

      It’s definitely a good entry 1911 tho even being on the loose side. Now I know nothing about their other models in terms of fitting. That said I’ve had some rock series armscor 1911s that are really tight.

    You want a little bit of off play in the slide that's the last thing you want is a super tight fit like all the idiots with their target shooting the gun originally designed for combat use and the work conditions that it involved mud snow things like this they needed a gun that was function if dropped in the mud that's what colts and the military did back in 1911 where they dropped the gun from a height of not sure I believe it was about 250 ft above ground and drop it with the half-cock safety they dipped it in mud clean the barrel fired it things like that a tight fitting gun you don't want if you had at least a thousand rounds through it it will loosen it up which is what I would like

    • @Conklikov
      @Conklikov  15 днів тому

      I don’t disagree that a little bit of play is desirable. But it is easy to sand and polish material away rather than add material. I rather be a bit tighter and loosen it up.than have a loose gun get looser. Lockup should always be tight. Slide to frame it’s very acceptable to have a bit of wiggle.

    • @larrythomas176
      @larrythomas176 15 днів тому

      The slide lugs and the barrel lugs should be squared to properly aligned both together firing a number of rounds and I worked in a gun shop with a friend of mine and we've seen 1911 that were like that it required a number of rounds to finally break it in we've had a tough nice pistol Smith here in Michigan and I inquired about tightening the slide equals that is the worst thing on a combat piece for self-defense leave that in his words garbage for the Target shooters
