  • Battery cells consist of alternating layers of anode and cathode foils, separated by the so-called separator. If the separator is pierced by cutting burrs, this leads to a short circuit between the anode and cathode, which significantly jeopardizes the safety of car batteries.
    This measurement task is extremely challenging, especially due to the combination of small defects and high belt speeds of 100 to 150 m/min.
