Honestly, the best part about this is that not only are they a younger crowd who probably mostly didn't grow up with Simon, they know who he is and are excited. So awesome.
Despite being out of the limelight for a decade-ish, Castlevania’s status in gaming culture is uncontested. Leaving a lasting impression just as much as Zelda, Sonic, Mega Man, Final Fantasy, et cetera. Though, while gaming is still technically considered a niche, it does stretch across everyone in our generations; most of our peers know what Castlevania is, yeah. :3
You can tell they didn't grow up playing Castlevania because the Medusa head gives it away for anyone that did. It's an iconic enemy. And if you didn't know from the Medusa head Death definitely gives it away. They didn't react to either like a Castlevania fan would've.
@@LckeStudios Because it is lol. It's a cheering, expectant gaming crowd & a gathering. These Directs don't come along every month , especially Iconic reveals like this but the guy has to play the Enjoyment Police role. 😂

I was actually in NYC visiting at the time but didn’t know they were having a smash direct so I never went to the store that day. If I did I would’ve been in the crowd mortified that Luigi died lmao
@@mman6564 They're lame. I'd be pissed if I came to a live event and people were screaming this much. There's a limit. Probably wouldn't be able to hear the trailer with that much yelling. Why even go if you can't hear it and I mean that in response to everyone.
black broly There was another video some guy took at this store where he wouldn't shut up, and kept making terrible jokes and character impressions during the Belmont reveal. What's worse is that after the Simon is revealed he he screams/asks, "Who is that? Who is Simon?" for 10 seconds. It's like, get this man out of the video game story! I know there is the meme that Nintendo fans are not interested in non-Nintendo games, but geez. Or he was just there because reaction videos are popular and he didn't care.
Maverick180c yeah you should know what is Castlevania if you play videogames and that dumbass didnt knew? Let alone Simon... i've never played Spyro or Crash but i definitely knows who they are and will be hype if they join just cause is videogame history
They rejoice so much in these characters, but how many of these children have Castlevania at least once at NES? It seems to me half, if not less of them, knew about these characters only from a video on UA-cam with other people's passages.
Yeah, I played it when it originally came out, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend there weren't other games in the series after that, not to mention an animated series currently on Netflix. They've had plenty of exposure since the original, so it wouldn't be surprising if the majority of them knew who he is, but you have fun making your unfounded, asinine assumptions.
Joshua Vargason 3 reasons this happened 1 leaks, 2 not a lot of people know about the classics, and 3 memes also it could be worse it could have been byleths reveal trailer aka cricket noises

Just shows how much staying power Castlevania has despite being absent for years.
@FF Legend same thing can kind of be said with Banjo
Castlevania 1, 2 and Super Castlevania 4 on the NES/SNES Mini were probably their exposure to classic Castlevania
