    Some of the best acting and story telling in star trek occurred in a now little known video game from 2000.

    "Without duty, a warrior becomes a slave of vainglory and reckless self-interest. [...] A true warrior never seeks glory, glory always finds him."

      @@acebrandon3522the greatest irony I can see, is that a Klingon, raised in the federation, became the kind of Klingon whom Chang would have seen as the ideal Klingon…
      And kill Gowron, who embodied so many of the things Chang sought to remedy, place Martok in the Chancellors seat… and began to restore the Empire to the path of Honor.
      Without the Federation, the Empire falls into corruption and Decadence.

    Christopher Plummer is either A.) Giving this his all despite being in a 90’s video game, which shows just how much of an amazing professional he is, or B.) He’s completely phoning it in and operating on auto pilot, but it’s top tier acting anyway because it’s Christopher-goddamn-Plummer.

    Ah, yes, Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do... I mean, Honor, Duty, Loyalty. Whoever wrote the script for Klingon Academy may have been prior military or consulted with veterans. If he or she did not then I commend them for grasping at words that convey the heart of a soldier's virtues. Chang's final words are especially noteworthy since they explain that mastering these ideas is a challenge of a lifetime and that upholding these principles requires a never ending commitment. Superb material!

      It would be a stalemate, in STO we get the idea that the Klingon's demons are actually the precurser to the Jem Hadar who became resistant to ketracel white. What the Klingons usually face are endless mindless hordes of soldiers... in DS9 we get a very real glimpse that the Jem Hadar are easily not mindless soldiers. If Jem Hadar become resistant to ketracel white and master their cloning it wouldnt be a win for either side.

    Love this game! It gave so much more depth to Chang’s character. After playing this game and seeing all the cutscenes, ST6 makes ALOT more sense. You understand both Gorkon (and especially) Chang much better. If only Chang had stayed loyal to Gorkon. If you pay close attention to the story in the game, Chang makes it quite clear that he knew he was throwing away his honor, but it was necessary--in his mind--to save his people, who he believed would be assimilated into Federation culture and would lose what makes a Klingon a Klingon.

    • @willcardona7712
      @willcardona7712 Рік тому +8

      @@ricardogalvan1031 What was really moving is that Chang wanted to keep Torlek away from what he was going to do. He didn't want to drag Torlek into something he knew in his heart was dishonorable. Torlek was the embodiment of everything he wanted Klingons to be, and the symbol of everything he wanted to protect in Klingon culture. Sadly, he felt that in order to do that, he had to break the very codes he had lived by his whole life. I wish he could have seen that an alliance with the Federation didn't necessarily mean the death of Klingon culture. In fact, the Federation could've learned much from the Heart of Virtue.
