Hi, Josh, Jesse, and Friends. Yahoo, the world juniors are here. I’ll be the first to admit that the only Team Canada player I know is, of course, Owen Beck, and to be honest. If it wasn't for you guys, I wouldn’t even know him. Hahaha!! 😂 Since Caufield joined the team. I’ve been enjoying his one-timers on the net. I know Ovechkin does it all the time. But, it’s different seeing it day in and day out and realizing how hard it really is. I noticed that whenever Team Canada had a chance they never even tried. I don’t even know if any of our players can even do it. I hope they’re just nervous, because that’s a huge weapon to have. Either way, I'm happy it's started. Have a great day everyone. 🤗🎉🍻
You guys forgot about Kovacevic. He is supercheap and ideal for 3rd pair or 7thD. All contenders are tight on salary cap and they would love to have him.
@@chrishansen8477 You need to win draws to win. You need to pot goals on the PP to win. You need a few vets to win. If they can trade for one, fine. It's part of the formula, and not always easy to find. Most of the building blocks are in place. 2-3 years and they can make a run. Sheltered minutes will make him invaluable. What will you get for him? Another youngster? Another 2nd or 3rd? This team is full of those. At some point you have to let the team evolve. You need depth.
@@markhodge7 Monahan could get a first round pick for sure and If Montreal could get that then I say move him because we still need another star and having 2 cracks at drafting one in the first round in 2024 is better than only having one… Montreal does not need depth we have lots of depth coming up, Sure we need veterans but you can make trades or FA signings to get some veterans on the team OR just sign Monahan in the off season after moving him we can come back and give him a deal he likes Montreal I sure he would like some playoff time and then I’m sure he would like to come back, Trading Monahan is the right choice at this moment especially if you can get a first round pick this team will not be a playoff team for another 4 years in my opinion to much players are not developed yet and some of the players we have on the roster have not reached their potential…. I wish I could watch more of the junior tourney to get a good look at Hutson and Mesar, but busy with family commitments until the New Year. I'm skeptical about both of them, to be perfectly honest. In particular, I want to see how Hutson holds up in a physical battle, like the Canada-USA games usually are. And how Mesar fares against the tournament super-powers (Canada, USA, Finland, Sweden). Doesn't matter if they rack up points against Switzerland or Norway, because that's in no way reflective of how they'll perform against NHL caliber competition. Hopefully I'll at least be able to catch some late-night replays on TSN or something. 🤞
I can see Savard and a few vets being traded. As for me I'd trade Harris and Barron and keep Struble and bring Arber back up. Here's to 2024 and hoping you guys see a big jump in subscriber's! GHG
Yes keep wifi i agree.. i think i would keep savard around though he is bit of a rock for the yung boys ...we have so many young dmen we need to package a few of them for a top scorer.. id atleast keep savard till reinbacker is ready
@@CanadianBiPolarBear I'd let em battle it out moving them up and down in the AHL and NHL. no rush, and that competition breeds excellence. at WORST we will have highly developed prospects to trade down the line instead of question marks. no reason to just give a 19/20 year old a starting job in the NHL before they prove they deserve it fully. revisit this when they gotta clear waivers.
@@CanadianBiPolarBear I agree with the 'packaging' idea whole-heartedly. We're over-flowing with potential 2nd and 3rd pairing D-men and mid or bottom 6 forwards. Packaging 2 or 3 of them for a single more elite prospect makes so much sense for us, and may well make sense for a potential trade partner as well...a team that perhaps already has a high-end veteran core but is weak on the 2nd/3rd pairing D or 3rd/4th forward lines without enough serious prospects to fill those holes. The question is, which of our players do we consider packaging. Personally, I'd keep Harris. But I'd be more than happy to part with Barron, Heineman, or even Beck or a few others. And I'd really hate to lose Savard, but if packaging him with one of those guys can get us an elite forward prospect in return, I'd be all over that. What I don't want to see is Savard traded just for the sake of it for a very late first or a second-round pick. That would completely defeat the purpose because all it would bring us back would be yet another second-tier prospect. Package, package, package!!!!!
Falling in love with players is the worst thing for a GM. Bergevin signed so many bad contracts because of this.... Evans simply can't score, we need to make space for the kids and saving 1.75$M on the cap has a lot of value. A top contender that needs a defensive Center may just slightly I overpay for him. I would state the same comments about Savard.
Hi Robert, have you considered that where Montreal will be drafting (8th to 12th), there "might" be a better defenseman available than...Reinbacher. If Montreal truly wants the best player available, it might turn out to be a defenseman...indeed 2024 will be a much better draft year for defensemen than 2023 !!!!
@@powers1500 Yes, it's a defenseman strong draft and it's better to go with the Bpa. I just put forward because there are a few forwards that are veru interesting high in thr draft.
Dear host Josh and Jesse, a brief explanation about which name is correct, Czechia or Czech Republic: in reality, both are correct. The name of the country is in the Czech language Cesko, which translates in english by the word Czechia. However when the country was formed after the split with Slovakia, the english language world, media etc, widely adopted the name "Czech Republic". In 2016, the government took steps to introduce the formal name of Czechia to the UN and with other international instances, pushing for their country to be named as such. So in summary, both names are valid but the Czech government prefers the use of Czechia.
I really hope they don't trade Evans. Great Hockey IQ and is a 20-35 point deph scorer. I think it's time to trade Monahan at the deadline though. Give him top 6 minutes till it and hope you get a 1st for him.
Hi, 4u2! I like Evan also. But, I also like Monaghan. I don’t know which is better. You’re probably right with keeping Evans. I hope you had a great day. Enjoy the rest of the day, buddy!! 😂

Savard is worth a 1st. I wouldn't trade him, just cause we're actually filled on Left D and also he's a better mentor sacrificing his body and such than Matheson (like he could take his A) so I would trade the latter, considering his value will probably never be higher. I was prone to trading Sean Monahan as well, but there are resigning talks going on right now, and I could see the team holding on to him for two more years at a reasonable rate since he'd be a veteran fourth liner on my 2-years-from-now contending team, getting better as playoffs drag on with good asset management. On that, Cheerio Gentlemen 🎊
Beck should spend a season in Laval prior joining Montreal and Evans has a year left on his contract...so they might keep Evans another year unless they get a good trade offer...which I doubt !!!
Have the Habs seen enough of Cayden Primeau or has another team. Whether they trade Allen or Primeau, I hope they pull the trigger soon and make room in the crowded crease. As for any other potential trade, they can all wait for the deadline.
all three are good enough to start for the worst teams in the NHL. Primeau deserves his spot as the backup and may over take the top spot from Monty in time. till then they both make a fine 1B/1B tandem. Jake Allan is a proven 1B Vet. Trade Allen he's more of a sure thing.
Most teams may have a Cayden Primeau developing in the minors...Las Vegas showed last season that it isn't that hard to find decent goalies when you have a really good team playing in front of team. But if you want a savior to make up for a bad team, then you need a lot more than a Primeau !!!
I see Jake Evans like Artturi Lehkonen. Think they bring almost the same thing to a team. If Kent can get the same as we did for Artturi, I would make the trade for sure and next year give the 3rd line responsibility to Owen Beck.
