Excellent video - very informative and well made. I've currently got a 795 marlin and went to see an 895 recently, hoping to upgrade next year so will follow your progress!
Looks OK there but thinking about the weather reminded me about the joys of boating in the UK. Take a tip: - sell everything and retire to the South of France - down the sensible, quiet end near the Spanish border. Don't forget to take the boat! - It's what we did - never, ever, going back !!!
Hi Timvins and thanks for that. The staining was just below water line and was algae, sea water staining not rust staining as such. its the same colour on the black areas of the hull just harder to see and washes off with power wash or a bit of elbow grease and scourer :)) We did have a couple of nuts discolour from rust above the water line which I used chrome cleaner on :)
Thanks Richard - we’re loving it! Yep - new engines require a 20 hr service - my understanding is that the initial movement of the new engines moving parts can remove particles of swarf etc from the new steel/aluminium internal surfaces that are then mixed into the oil as it circulates and so it flushes out all those potential particles, or impurities. Changing the oil so early on in the engines life clears those initial deposits. Same applies to the gearbox oil. I’m not a mechanic though!! If anyone knows different feel free to add to this!! Stuck back in lockdown again so can’t visit the boat 😕
Hi David, Yes, no probs, it was just over £400 for service all in and the lift and hold was £110 - definitely pays to shop around, if you’ve got that option, as that was half some quotes I had!! Kind regards, Bob 😁
I love the way that the engines have smiley faces on top!
Yes they aim to please!
Fine quality video with informative technical overview from two great people.
Many thanks Bruce :)

Sounds idyllic Tim - been down there a few times (without a boat) and loved it. Fabulous part of the boating world!! :)
Nice information and explanation but what caused the heavy rust on the transoms around the engine mounts?

So the 20 hr was a Break-In-Service?... Beautiful Boat and Service!...
