    "This too shall pass" was awesome.
    Not as awesome as the autolocks had been today to me, but still pretty high up, might be the best thing I did hear all day. Well, kiddo discovered Mick Krüger and Die Prinzen today and did sing along. So not really though competition.

    This is my second favorite strap. The locking part makes it so easy to use. However, the Levy's Right Height strap is perfect for adjusting the strap without having to take it off. If I knew how to sew leather, I'd combine the lock from D'Addario with the Levy's for the perfect guitar strap. I'm really tempted to get another D'Addario strap to try it. There has to be a way to make it work.

    I like this system very much. I have two of these. And now I want more, and tat turnsy-wunsy one ))) This strap doesn't work with the stock buttons on my Squier, but works well with the Dunlop Dual Design strap lock buttons. So, now I want to replace all buttons with dunlop, and use all my straps, includiing these.

I have a bit of a collection of straps, when I visit a City I go to a local small guitar shop and buy one to keep on a guitar more or less permanently. Then when I have an extra strap I use it as an excuse to buy a guitar for it...................see there's a method to the madness.

    I ordered two of these straps, because on the website it says it extends down to 59.5 inches, but it does not. It only goes to 56 to 57 inches. Max I contacted the company and they said it’s a mistake on the website. Not cool, because I actually need them for my SG because it is a brilliant design. It’s just not long enough. The way I play anyway.

    The straps are the best, love them, have them since like forever. The variant with planet locks from the Satch signature straps is cool too, not the right one for me, but my wife (who is a security fanatic) likes them even more. But for me the spring loaded ones are much better. Only downside, when my kid was smaller she sometimes opened them while I was playing on accident ... ;-)

    I have two straps from D'addario. Both of 'em have a slide lock. I don't know how else to call it. Thought they were great and unbeatable... until now. I still like them. What I love about the one shown in this video is the twisty-thingy. Mine sometimes get twisted and I have to get them right again. I think I'll get one of these in the near future. There are still two guitars left without a strap. Thank you Henning! Great video.

    Like you have done previously, I use the DiMarzio clip system - primarily because I find them the only system that doesn’t have that annoying rattle that you find with the other competitors. The way I work around the cost of the systems is just buying the strap ends and using 1 or 2 straps for the whole collection.
    How is the rattle on the set you’re showcasing?

  • @stefanhennig
    @stefanhennig Місяць тому

    The twister ("Wirbel") in the strap is cool and the lock is clever, too, but what's actually wrong with the beer bottle rubber gaskets everyone else uses? They are dirt cheap and so I can have a strap on each guitar and don't have to change them and can keep their length adjusted.

    8:47, my mom and I loved the song here, really nice song, without too much artificials, and like a live-performance, feels nice! For the Strap lock, I still feel like I'd touch the clip by accident and guitar'd fall off, :D, But it could be solves by covering that round clip with something, at least... Nice video, we love D'addario strings!

  • @BrunodeSouzaLino
    @BrunodeSouzaLino Місяць тому

    Will that lock and the mechanism hold if I suspend the guitar by the strap and tug on it with force? Some mechanisms will fail when you do that. Billy Sheehan often demonstrates that on his bass because he doesn't use any brand of straps of strap locks. He makes his own straps which are then cut at a fixed length and then screwed on each bass he has.

    That D'Addario solderless set seems nice, but... I go wireless to my pedalboard, so one spare cable is enough of a backup. As for patching, I wouldn't want to lose those precious millimetres on the board(s), they do add up. Instead I use the 10cm cables from Thomann, haven't had a failure yet (still a few spares with me). I might take a set on the road, just for safety's sake. Congrats for your unique testing method!

    I wanted to use D' Addoario strap but I saw mixed review. I think its actually horrible: reason is that after locking the hard plastic part on the original strap button of the guitar, hard plastic parts can still move and it is going to make quite some scratches and damages the finish on the areas it touches the body. In this case, its can actually be horrible....

    This D' Addoario strap is beyond all others. I do have the Ernie Ball, but it is unfit for a quick change. This one remains quick and easy in all situations. That would mean I only need one strap, and the twist problem is also fixed. Definitely a winner!❤

    The same strap without the turn-see-worms-see works great on most guitars. BIG BUT? The company has ordinary straps that all come in dozens of colors or patterns but the locking straps either come in grey or black or the few that do not are out of stock for infinity. Many, many guys buy a strap at a bricks and mortar store. Their eye catches one they like and they get it merely on an impulse. Their eye will ignore a grey or black strap as that they already own.

    Es gibt ein noch wesentlich besseres System für Gitarrengurte als das von D'Addario, nämlich das von "Lock it". Es ist sehr sicher, ist n i c h t aus Hartplastik, was leicht die Gitarre beschädigt, sondern aus der Kombination von Leder und Kevlar. Dieses System hält auch Les Paul-Modelle absolut sicher. Außerdem gibt es dabei Gurte aus Leder, die kürzer verstellbar sind als die von D'Addario und es gibt auch welche aus Baumwolle. Beide haben den Vorteil, dass sie nicht so rutschig sind.
    D'Addario hat seine Idee leider nicht zu Ende gedacht. Sie haben zwar auch Ledergurte mit dem Sicherheitsverschluss, doch die lassen sich für viele Gitarristen nicht kurz genug verstellen. Wie die ausgerechnet auf diese Plastikscheiße gekommen sind bei den Gurten, ist mir schleierhaft. Erstens ist das Zeug total rutschig, zweitens fühlt es sich nicht gut an.

To me they are the best and I have been using them since the late '80s. Whenever I get a new guitar I just take the strap buttons off put the Dunlop double use female strap button.
