I rented this game multiple times as a kid, and always hated it lol I was such I huge fan of DuckTales, and this game does the cartoon very little service. But with that being said, I always played the moon level, and I always loved this song. This takes me right back to those Saturday mornings, fresh from watching my cartoons and eating my biggest bowl of favorite cereal and being glued to the tv, Sega Genesis in hand... Perfect nostalgia. It's just too beautiful!
I replayed the Remastered game not too long ago, and I found his name in the Special Thanks section of the credits. My head exploded at the fact that Disney and Capcom acknowledged such godlike singing.
Even tho, if you don't feel to play the original game, you should give a try to the Remastered version, which has this AWESOME moon stage theme that really gives justice to the original.
It is, I played it a lot as a kid, one of the few NES games I finished. The Moon theme has never left my head in 20+ years. You intentionally take your time in this stage to hear the song more. Never, ever gets old and our world will never have enough remixes, covers, or what have you. Also, play Duck Tales, for real.

If it sounds like there’s a missing note in the beginning of the original song (not this one), it’s because there is, it’s in 15/8 (or 15/16) time signature which means there’s 15 notes instead of the usual 16, but Smooth McGroove actually didn’t realize that and put it in 4/4 like a couple of other people who didn’t realize
To this day I am still annoyed that this song goes from 15/8 to 4/4, like bro I almost smashed my head through a wall trying to get this songs progression by ear

Yeah it's really whistled. It's obviously not done live tho as the video is recorded(the breathing for it is impossible). Most likely he recorded the part and looped it.

firefor hire no he isn't, none of these are done live. He said so on his AMA. The split whistling is done for an ambient and echoed effect. It's looped. Why do people just make guesses on the internet when they don't actually know what they are talking about?? Here, let's pretend I'm not echoing his actual words that it isn't recorded live and we'll use simple logic. First of all, he isn't taking proper breaths to be whistling the whole time, at 1:27(and the entire video and other singing parts for that matter) his head is bobbing and bouncing all around back and forth to the beat yet the tone and balance stays completely consistent. Anybody who has done even MINOR recording knows that would be picked up on a microphone of this quality. You can't just sit there and move your head back and forth and maintain that volume and clarity. When it was ACTUALLY recorded it was done at a specific distance from the mic,held perfectly still and for a short amount of time(the entire signature) and then looped and mixed through the song.

Yeah it's really whistled. It's obviously not done live tho as the video is recorded(the breathing for it is impossible). Most likely he recorded the part and looped it.

He split the whistle into two parts. Three actually. Top left corner, top right corner, and middle left. He is actually whistling the whole time.
firefor hire no he isn't, none of these are done live. He said so on his AMA. The split whistling is done for an ambient and echoed effect. It's looped. Why do people just make guesses on the internet when they don't actually know what they are talking about?? Here, let's pretend I'm not echoing his actual words that it isn't recorded live and we'll use simple logic. First of all, he isn't taking proper breaths to be whistling the whole time, at 1:27(and the entire video and other singing parts for that matter) his head is bobbing and bouncing all around back and forth to the beat yet the tone and balance stays completely consistent. Anybody who has done even MINOR recording knows that would be picked up on a microphone of this quality. You can't just sit there and move your head back and forth and maintain that volume and clarity. When it was ACTUALLY recorded it was done at a specific distance from the mic,held perfectly still and for a short amount of time(the entire signature) and then looped and mixed through the song.
