Like Edison's lightbulb, electric cars will be the cheep car you give your teenagers to give them their first taste of freedom and autonomy. You do not give them a horse or a gas car because they are expensive, and you know how irresponsible teens are. :)
@@joepeck2942 lol lmao your funny by no means I am that older grumpy guy talking though the tv... i am a true car nut build and race etc ... I just see the hardware and software that he is using and by no means this is a cheap hotrod .... that's all :)
Hot rodding originally refers to giving higher performance to a car by changing the gasoline engine camshaft, sometimes called the "rod" . This car is still cool
*TESLONDA*👍💨
What was the budget for the conversion?
kicked off from drag strip, too fast. WOW.
Too fast for what he was licensed to drive.
10 second quarter mile is fast...but quite average for most comprehensive builds. You can find Honda CRX's with K20 engine swaps pulling 8.X second quarter miles here on youtube.. electric could do better, we just need more pioneers.
@@Calyx once you hit a certain time your car needs a roll cage for safety or else they won't let you run anymore
No, too fast for him. He needs proper licensing.
@@no_bull it has a roll cage
Just wanted to let you know that your an amazing dad for teaching your kid how to weld so young. I’m 16 and still don’t know how to
Don't Und4r estimate the power of the sun!
@Motherboards These electric cars video's are GREAT!
Delete your miss information already.
@BiggestComplainer LOL, electric car driver here and all city chargers are 100% local wind.
Youve emulated one of the old school Gassers. Its the solid axel front suspension, i love it!
But can it run Crysis?
Probably at least DooM
@@MrSHUTUPCAT definitely Doom a T83 Calculator can run doom. A tesla cpu probably can run Crysis. While doing a 1320/9
With all that electric power stored in it's batteries, it will mine Bitcoin
Technology is ever evolving and changing. It's scary and beautiful.
Guy 1- adds every possible knowledge to build gasoline drag racing car...looses bets.
This guy JUST SLAPS Tesla motor in,ND is not allowed for DRAG RACING. WOW
Lol ya, JUST slaps it in. Like it takes zero knowledge to not fry yourself with half a million watts (not even joking). It to not have it roll right out the backend.
And its perfectly fine for drag racing...he just has to have proper safety measures and be certified
Being environmentally conscious and responsible is all well and good, but sometimes you just want to roast a pair of back tires this thing a amazing.
Tire shredding squeel makes up for the sound.
No It doesn't, not even close.
Do you have any info on how you made your display and the equipment needed to make it? I'm working on a motorcycle with my kids and want to do a screen like what you made. Thank you.
Hesla would have been a better name.
How about... Dr. Franclinsta! hehe
I think Teslonda is perfect
Yes please. Anyone doing this in Australia? I have a '75 Toyota Celica TA22 just waiting for the tech to get affordable.
Just install a speaker for the noise
It would be really funny if they get a V8 gas boy to drive an electric car with V8 sounds 😂😂 can you trick people is the question.
@@Mr.Ramirez95 i think it just need something to vibrate the car. Make them think it had an engine.
Mr. 2 minutes Easy, put a large subwoofer.
neighbors appreciate that
This is like Hotroders in the 30's when the technology was still new yet abundant. Seeing his son in the shop was inspiring! Hopefully The Home Land Generation capitalizes on this technology, pulls away from screens, and uses it in the real world.
when his son is 16 steering wheels are illegal.
john pardon I believe that you are closer to the truth than you could imagine. It’ll be great when you can drive your car to a scenic spot, get out and hike for 10 miles without backtracking and to have your car waiting for you, at the end of your hike, just because it’s self driving.
john pardon In 8 years? Lol no.
That will be so sad if that actually happened.
Over my dead body
@@greynolds17 agreed
This car is awesome man!! Future of making whatever car you to be an electric hotrod is looking so cool.
Engine roar is an annoying sound
It's annoying because you don't understand it just the same way some people think hip-hop music is just an annoying sound.
Let's play: spot the guy who has never been to a car show
@@cinilaknedalm sounds like someone needs an emp mailed too them
@@jonathondeeds3423 Yeah pal, do you bring your boom box blasting out to your grandma and go like "you just don't get it grandma!! Hip hop is dope AF" or sit outside your house and make the entire neighbourhood listen to it at the end of a working week? I like a nice exhaust note as much as the next guy, I just don't do it at the expense of someone else's well deserved peace and quiet
@@greynolds17 Easy now homeboy. No need to be rude. Here, I've updated my comment above to better reflect what I meant, so your blessed little heart don't get triggered again.
This quay is cool. I love his attitude and the modern take on hot ridding. Inspiring!!
Its absolutely beautiful to see a mind that doesn't stop learning new things. And that car is badass too
Very inspirational! Love the build! Nice mix mash of parts! Also love the stance of the vehicle! Reminds me of an old gasser
Well done Sir.my hat's off to you. From Pennsylvania with love.
Did it have to be raised up? I had a 2 door Honda like this. I loved it.
My friend I am 70 years old and have turned a wrench or two in my life and I think what you are doing is awesome. I'm pissed off that Telsa will not sell parts to or train third parties. We need an Edelbrock type 3rd party environment of manufactures and innovators of parts and performance enhancements for electric car guys.
Is there any information on the dash software you guys built? Or even a copy online somewhere? Thank you.
I'd be interested to know what motor he used. The performance model S can pull 2.4.
So many people are not ready for this... I love it.
I like how he had a mix of digital display + manual switches. I like the silent + power of electric. Put that in the shell of a 69 camaro and that would be THE dream..... and maybe a pickup version for work.
This is what I've been looking for. Gas powered vehicles are their own thing, but electric cars offer such much more in terms of the future. Don't get me wrong, hearing a turboed V8 go full throttle is pretty satisfying. But for electric cars, getting power in that quiet electric buzz and feeling form is something else entirely.
I noticed you where loading up Linux. What distribution are you using and what program are you using?
Raspbian Stretch Lite (based off of debian), homemade/custom software
You could have a 1000hp electric car that gets 500 mile range and people will still hate on it for the stupidest reasons. "Gotta have the sound" "I like engine noise too much to have an electric car" so stupid
