I recently read 'Last Assassin - The Hunt for the Killers of Julius Caesar' by Peter Stothard. Really enjoyable book about the aftermath and the vengeance. I can never get enough of the story of the ides of March and all that led up to it and the aftermath.

Caesar is one of those figures who really cements the great Man/Woman of history theory for me. Sure there is some great invisible and unconscious will that moves societies, but every now and then there comes a person whose will is so strong they transcend even that moving giant, and even if only for days, bid it to move the stars. And we continue to track our lives by the sky they leave.
