I can see my parent's dancing in the living room to this Pops had tambourines and maracas and a serious record collection. It's because of those records I found my true identity...I was born to do music which is what I do today...thanks Pop's I love you and miss you dearly...R.I.P Pop's.
She was the best! "Hot Shot" is a TRUE disco classic.....it PACKED the dance floors when it was released.....from Studio 54 all the way around the world. Her vocal range and talent were unsurpassed. A true Disco Diva!
Dance club DJ’s used to say this was hard to mix into another song due to the back beat sliding sound. This was at the peak of disco- when you had to go out if you wanted to connect with people! Lol. At least is was always happy on the dance floor. I have this very remix on vinyl which I still play today.
@@stenfjord1no problem: i used to continue with "Think It Over" by Whitney's mom Cissy-after the second break of"Hot Shot" you just start with the very beginning of the Michael Zager Production: it works and that song was a dancefloor filler, also!😊
Just Celebrated My 64th B-Day and Still Dancing in My 👠👠 to this DANCE Classic, Clearing and Destroying the Dance Floor! RIP Karen Young, Gone Too Soon!!
I remember when this song first came out back in 1978. It shot up the charts like fire. Everybody was dancing to it. Karen Young had a one hit wonder, but that voice and that sound made it last long on the Charts.
"The lead single from the album *Hot Shot* reached number one on the US Billboard disco chart for the week of August 5, 1978 and spent two weeks there."
Today's generation does not know what fun is...people would go out to dance, dance, dance & 💃 knew when & HOW to give attitude with style. The House parties were the best....
Karen the whole world miss. You my dear friend. I'm sure heaven is partying with you. With this one. R.i.p.my dear friend. May the lord bless your soul. For ever and ever . Amen....🙏...
My friend is the most beautiful woman I ever saw, and this is her favourite song. I swear when she entered a club everybody was whispering " Zorica is here!" But she's just this good sport. She has a stutter. She's just like all of us. Just initially more stunning.
Heard this first played on Greg Edwards Soul Spectrum and then the following Saturday went to Groove Records , Greek Street Soho to get the import 12”. Money well spent ❤️🎶👍
One of THE dance songs of 1978. And then when she did live appearances and EVERYONE'S jaw hit the floor when it was revealed she was not Black. After that, people just went, "YOU GO, GIRL!!!"
College, 1976 to 1980! Danced up a storm! Lol. We had fun and did our work! Just about every graduated! Lawyers, teachers, doctors, nurses, politicians, preachers, entrepreneurs, business owners, faith based business owners, etc. Fond fond memories ❤. I thank God for mercy and grace! Repentative hearts, many living for Him...Just so grateful!❤
I clearly remember the night that DJ Kurt B. got the cassette tape of the completed song, that he co-authored with Andy Kahn, at the DCA Club in Philadelphia. As soon as he played it the club went nuts...and a hit was born, and 40 some years later, I still love it. Sadly Kurt is no longer with us, but Andy is. I always thank him now, even though I did not know him at the time of the release. A very multi-talented pianist and performer. RIP Karen, dance on everyone.

As a long time retired DJ, I can verify it was a horrible disc to mix out of...usually cleared the dance floor.
