Charles Barkley was not only a great NBA player, but he is an even better person. When we say today’s NBA players don’t meet the standard of the 80s and 90s, it’s not just about their skills as a basketball player. It’s about the kind of persons that came along during that era. Imagine someone who hangs out with his co-workers and cares about their well being more than his own interests. When he spoke out against the NBA and ESPN, that was not in his interest, but it was in the interests of the people that worked for him and he was willing to go to the mat and support them. There is a perception of today’s NBA players, that they are selfish and only care about themselves. Barkley shows us how it is done. Thanks, Mark Jackson, because you have some of the best basketball conversations in the pod cast world. God Bless 🙏🏾
Facts. Great list. Marques Johnson, Alex English and Adrian Dantley were examples of that 1980s was the era of the small forwards. And of course as a longtime Knicks fan, Bernard King is on that impressive list.
Charles, John Salley, Kevin Garnett… the best storytellers in the business. They shoot straight and speak their mind as they see it and I really appreciate it.
@@Andre-cg5qj I know. People need to recognize someone who is just speaking the way they always have but you know he means nothing by it. Now if he said “fuck so-and-so” and I haven’t seen it, that’s another thing altogether.
Chuck has always been among one of my favorites. Had me dying when he said how he felt about being swept and the story about his daughter 😂😭 Another great interview from Mark and Bluu with him for The Mark Jackson Show. Can’t wait for the second part of the interview too.
I was lucky enough to be at game 3 when the Knicks sweep Philly at the old Spectrum. Knicks brought the brooms out and Charles just laid on the floor with his hands covering his face for at least 5 minuts after the final buzzer lol
Chuck never let the $ allow him to lose touch with reality. Every chance he gets he speaks on how blessed it is to live the life of a pro athlete without the day to day worries of normal civilian life.
Thanks for thinking of us little people, Chuck. I've had an immense respect for you since I heard the conditions you set for being in the basketball video game, and that respect grew even more today. Thanks, also, for decades of entertainment. And hilariously bad basketball takes (lol just kidding... sort of)
Chuck has always been my favorite NBA player, and I believe he’s the greatest power forward ever. Yes he didn’t win a championship but it takes more than one player to win, put him with the Bulls, Pistons, Lakers, or Boston during his time and he would have won a championship. He only had the players win he went to the Suns, but Cedric got hurt and it changed the game.
Regarding Chuck's TNT comment, corporates will always "say" they good till the second they lay you off! To them, we just a number with no dignity yet our loyalty is expected!
Too much content nowadays. Every time Chuck is interviewed, it feels like a re run. I don't think he has an untold story. Good thing it's Chuck, because I'll listen to his repeat stories all day!
@@kharyvines6971 Duncan played power forward most of his career, with some time at center. The fact that most of the former NBA and current players mention him as a power forward i'm not sure how that is not sinking in. When he played at Wake with Loren Woods guess who was center? When he came into the league and paired with David Robinson guess who was the center?
Charles is correct When you grow up poor Then make lots of money in life You loose all perspective of poverty and what others are going through in life

Charles Barkley was the first basketball player who did not let his chunky size affect him to be a successful basketball player.

If it wasn’t for M🐐J DOMINATING the 90s Barkley would EASILY be a top 10 player.
He is top 10

I said it before and i'll say it again. No better forward than Charles going coast to coast. Something they never talk much about.
