Yes! Ctrl+PgUp to move to the next measure, Ctrl+PgDn to move to the previous. Also Ctrl+Shift+PgUp / Dn to move forward and backward through arranger sections or markers.
Sweet - I've been looking for a transpose shortcut for ages so Thank You ... although I realise the '2' and '8' has to be on a number pad not on the number keys across the top of the keyboard ;-)
Brilliant! The Ctrl+Drag trick to change the gain of an audio track is GOLD. I've been wanting something like that all along, never knew it was actually there!
It's all been said many times by others but that doesn't stop me from saying it again: a MASSIVE thanks Mike! - these CW hot tips videos are absolutely invaluable. Keep 'em coming :-)
I am fairly certain your channel alone has improved my efficiency and workflow more than i care to figure out. It's a lot, had to say again thank you for what you do, and i hope you're well. The knock-off Freeman was a nice touch!
Subscribed, liked, gonna start supporting. I'm not a cakewalk veteran but I'm in LOVE with the software. Thanks to your brilliance I'm skipping the learning curve with considerable speed.
Been using Cakewalk since it was SONAR 5 and I never knew these! Although now I use a gaming mouse that has 15 extra buttons on it that I have mapped on to 15 different hot key functions. It’s gonna BLAZE once I add a few of THESE!! 🤘😎🤘
This is awesome! I'm a big proponent of the Ctrl key, and use it heavily in video and photo editing as well. Also, with MF's dramatic pause on "twice" you really need to get William Shatner for your next video.
Phew - a lot to remember there Mike! Some really useful key commands I wasn't aware of - could have definitely used the one to change all outputs a few weeks back when I changed over from ASIO4All to WASAPI and had to go through all my projects changing outputs! Great idea to put these tutorials in a playlist
I've known about ctl-x, ctl-v, and ctl-c (as well as ctl-y) for years. But in CW I don't use them because I want or need the options that the "special" options provide.
It's as if you knew exactly what I needed right now. Great stuff. I have the keyboard shortcuts for the Cakewalk online documentation open to refer to, but get so consumed in what I'm doing, I forget to refer to it. Thanks Mike, great video. :)
7:24 I'm guessing _"i"_ stands for _"inspector"_ , a specific tweaks tab for selected items commonly present in workstation softwares. Btw, thank you for the amazing video. I'm in migration process from FL Studio and these have been a blessing. As an Image-Line fanactic for over a decade now, their lack of attention for the pro-users is, to say the least, infuriating. Only 125 tracks mixer is outrageous, lack of easy MIDI humanization, tempo automation is an absolute nightmare and so on, so on... Anyway, hope you doing well.
Ironically, going to have to watch this on slo-mo to learn how to save time. Or maybe I'll just wait until I'm no longer under the influence of COVID before tackling anything that requires the use of my brain. I would love a list of these so maybe I'll type it up into a spreadsheet for my future use, once I feel well again.
There is a duplication of key assignment for Ctrl-F4, one assignment closes a floating window, the other closes the project. Is there a way to reassign the floating window action as it is not something that would be used very often.
You can also use Ctrl+Page Up or Page Down to move the now time back and forth
Thank you!
This is very useful. I use all the time.
Yes! Ctrl+PgUp to move to the next measure, Ctrl+PgDn to move to the previous. Also Ctrl+Shift+PgUp / Dn to move forward and backward through arranger sections or markers.
Only downside in CbB is you can't move the now time freely. It's always snapped, even with snap turned off.
Ctrl + 2 - Transpose notes 1 octave down.
Ctrl + 8 - Transpose notes 1 octave up.
ahhhh - nice!
Sweet - I've been looking for a transpose shortcut for ages so Thank You ... although I realise the '2' and '8' has to be on a number pad not on the number keys across the top of the keyboard ;-)
The Morgan Freeman bit was comedy gold.
Brilliant! The Ctrl+Drag trick to change the gain of an audio track is GOLD. I've been wanting something like that all along, never knew it was actually there!
Morgan Freeman!!! 😂😂😂
Excellent work and hope you're doing well too!!!
YOU ARE JUST A GODSEND ❤🤍💙🦋🐦
It's all been said many times by others but that doesn't stop me from saying it again: a MASSIVE thanks Mike! - these CW hot tips videos are absolutely invaluable. Keep 'em coming :-)
I've really gotta thank you for all the really useful clear lessons. really great thankyou.
I am fairly certain your channel alone has improved my efficiency and workflow more than i care to figure out.
It's a lot, had to say again thank you for what you do, and i hope you're well.
The knock-off Freeman was a nice touch!
Might be the best 10 minutes of tutorial for CbB! (well, full disclosure, it took more than 10 minutes watch and make a "cheat sheet" ;-)
OOOHHH MY GOD CTRL ( L ) !!!!! thank MIKE !!!!!!!! you you save me a lot of time
Man!! It's really impressive how you got MORGAN FREEMAN to promote your video's! I didn't even know he used cakewalk!
Ha, it was Moregun Freidman.
@@abc456f Not quite as impressive but a solid choice none the less.🤘
In a audio clip: Ctrl + Shift + drag the right/left side, to time streaching.
You are the Ctrl Master!
great content, helped me a lot
I've long suspected that Morgan Freeman was a Cakewalk user. (Good video!)

Amazing! and here I thought I knew everything about Cakewalk (no, I didn't). Thanks!
They're just getting better and better mate, well done!!!
Thank you!
Big fan of shortcuts.
Very VERY useful video, thank you so much Mike!!
Hello Mike, great idea this video, today.
Thanks mate very helpful for us a beginner
Once again, good shot for us! I know for decades lots of CTRL key operations, but here, I now have some new stuff. Thanks a lot!

Wow,great info Mike,thank you!!
Outstanding 👍
Thank you so much for your Cakewalk videos.
Glad you like them!
Thank You so MUCH as Always!!!:)))э
Great tips, thanks Mike !
Great video. I use keyboard shortcuts in almost every program, including Chrome while watching UA-cam. It speeds things up, for sure.
Thank you Mike, great tips. And a brilliant production, hope Morgan didn’t charge too much😂
Thank you Mike ❤✌
CTRL+PAGE UP/DOWN moves the now time by measures.
CTRL+SHIFT+PAGE UP/DOWN moves to the next/previous marker.

OH YES!!! That may well happen!

Pure gold!

Hoping you also do a video on using the CAL. Cheers, good passionate musical techie Chap.
That would get my vote :) although I've heard a rumour that CAL might be disappearing soon??
It's as if you knew exactly what I needed right now. Great stuff. I have the keyboard shortcuts for the Cakewalk online documentation open to refer to, but get so consumed in what I'm doing, I forget to refer to it. Thanks Mike, great video. :)
Nice 🙌🏾. Keep em coming 😎👍🏾
Will do!!
Awesome

Yes, It's "inspector" :)
Agree

It’s in the app’s help menu.
@@clownpocket Thank you! I'll take a look. Usually Help menus aren't really that helpful...lol.
I use Cakewalk and Studio One. I find it so hard to go back and forth remember the short cut keys! The end result is slow in both DAWs! lol
top top top, show de mais.
I is for the Inspector pane.
me ayudo muchisimo. habia varios atajos que no conocia. y el de control w lo buscaba hace mucho.
If I press CTRL R will I remember all of this?
Just CTRL [Well Done] and CTRL [thank you]
traducir español gracias
If I bounce the linked tracks together, will the linking ability disappear? I tend to bounce frequently because cakewalk lags if I don’t

It seems that assigning close project to Ctrl-F4 manually will override the duplication.
Perhaps “i” is for “inspector”
Yup - I think so.
Hey!
I'm all about keyboard shorts. Watching people use the mouse only is frustrating. haha
It' recommended to watch this on half speed :D
LOL
I've mapped the just the x, c, and V keys (sans CTRL) for cut copy and paste - even quicker.....
I try to convert audio to midi but its say "melodyne busy".. can u help me?
Wow, 12 years with Sonar and I knew about 5 of those :|
You have shamed me... I thought I knew almost every shortcut
Was it really Morgan Freeman??😂😂😂😂
Secret ssshhh
Morgan Freeman.. clever.. haha
Funny thing is that my shortcut keys aren’t working and nobody seems to have the answer
;)
