Grabbing your clothes are actually one good technique while doing high notes. Whenever we have a high note in choir, I always grab my clothes or close my fist. It helps a lot for me in getting those high notes because of the force.

Yeah it’s to block out the outside noise and they use it to hear the backing track or their voices so that they won’t miss a note or key. But sometimes it can have problems so they remove it or if they’re gonna do a high note it’s gonna hurt the ear so they remove it as well
