I just purchased one and it’s fantastic, works like a dream. The whole house sparkles now.
Used it a few times since it arrived. I was a little bit scared of it falling down (I live in a 6th floor) but it seems it does not fall. It's great help for big windows when you don't reach the top part of them easily. So far, a useful gadget for me

4 years later - still same question bothers me - practicality of this thing.
It's not like a roomba that has the benefit of doing stuff automatically no matter whether you sleep or recalled to wet the mop - it requires quite a lot of attention.
it sounds like it's tremendously noisy - at least on those videos I've seen. BTW, seems like they aren't that popular - so I can't even find those in offline electronic stores to take a look.
It's quite costly as for the toy (ok, there are some chinese alternatives now for 150 bucks, yet they are of questionable quality and not guaranteed future supply of spare parts, especially those microfibers - those seem to be disposable in time - btw, what's your experinece on them after 4 years?).
On the other hand - I live on 7-th floor and the external side of glass balcony is quite hard to reach to clean properly and that's where I probably can use it.
Plus I know folks are using it also for wall tiles in the shower (sorry if that's not a proper for those - English is my third language) - to clean it up from water salts.
Yet still for 200-ish bucks for mid-range model sounds a bit excessive for the capabilities it has, ain't it?
... on the other hand - if you'd call the cleaning lady - they's charge somewhere about 5-10 bucks per each window (and I'm talking about eastern/central Europe prices, not even Western Europe/US) and I have about 10 windows in my appartment. Well, honestly I'm not booking those kind of services but from that perspective it could have a good ROI in a sense, I think.

Nice review! I just wanna ask, what do you think of the "8" shape of these Window Cleaning Robots? How does it perform against the others with more of a "square" shape? Especially when cleaning the edges. Thanks!
Honestly, I've long since stopped using this gizmo because unless it's a window that's otherwise difficult to reach, the issue of a small smear becoming a really big smear overrode the benefit of it cleaning the windows automatically. We need a smarter device that can just avoid a stain, blob or smear, or otherwise address the problem, because if we need to pre-clean the window, what's the point? :-)

Nope. It's constrained by the design so any corners or weird shapes are going to cause it trouble or have it just miss spots.
I loved this but I am in the uk so ordered something like it got robotic mop and hoover and use every day

A decent review, nice for vertical windows, but what about a sloping conservatory roof, its not a big sloping roof
A few years later, I have to say that I now think these are gimmicky and haven't used this unit in quite a long time. If I had a conservatory (do you live in the Clue board game mansion? 🙂 ) I expect that it wouldn't work either...

Interesting gadget Dave although I’m not too sure how practical it is as it seems just too slow and noisy, far easier to clean windows the old fashion way.... elbow grease! Thanks for sharing.
Unless you can't reach outside to clean 'em. But yeah, an interesting implementation at best...
Stay away from the Hobot 2S
It 100% does not work and we have been unable to return it.
Tracks just slide on the window and moves sporadically.
Extremely disappointed with this purchase and even more so with the lack of any customer service.

My windows tilt in for cleaning. A colossal waste of money to me. But thank you for the video.
This is a POS! It's loud and it's slow + it needs a lot of handling. I returned this garbage next day.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I ultimately found it was easier to wash my windows by hand, to be candid. 🙂
