Georgie Stone is an amazing Australian actress these days. She has just finished her 4 years as Mackenzie on Neighbours, and I wish her all the best with whatever she chooses to do next in her life! Georgie has grown into a beautiful woman, and I'm so happy for her and her wonderful family. 💖🇭🇲
At least this man woke up and saw the light. I am glad that at least this family cares about their daughter. I wish that more parents would be like these parents.
Hormones à vie mutilation des organes fonctionnels pour des organes non fonctionnels ?Mais parents irresponsables elle aurait du suivre chez un psychologue tout petit pour se réconcilier avec son vrai sexe.
What an absolutely amazing family and extraordinary young woman! Georgie you are such an inspiration. You have already accomplished so very much, in such a short time. I wish you all the love, strength and success for your journey ahead. Xx
I think that georgie is one of the most inspiring young people that I have ever heard of. I know that she is going to do wonderful things with her life. I wish her nothing but the very best for her and I hope that she and her family stays safe.
I believe wholeheartedly that it is in the programming of the child. It comes from within them and that there is no blame, nor is it wrong. Only those who experience this can truly understand. Inspiring story
🥲 Having an emotional day and watching this… Im so proud of Georgie and I’m so glad she has an amazing family to support her. Well done on raising a strong woman!!
I think the most defining moment that helped this go down a beautiful path was the Father taking Georgie to buy a dress. It opened the door to to her happiness and the courage to stand by whom she knew who she was regardless of societies views and judgment.
very true I'm so proud of you, I'm from Brisbane your so pretty your gorgeous I'm trans female to I'm 50 iv know since 5 years of age I'm a female too. your my sister.you rock baby take care From Tiffany
I think that australia needs to take their heads out of their butts and stop forcing transgender children and their families to go to court for the right to be who they are.
Despite reading the comments before I watched the film and knowing that she's trans I had a lot of trouble seeing Georgie as a male! She's a beautiful woman to me. And was so from the earliest days of her life.
Heart warming and pulled at the strings, I'm SO glad that she has a supportive family and has changed the laws in Australia. I didn't realise that when she first appeared in Australian soap Neighbours as a transgender character that the groundbreaking storylines she played was mirrored off screen as well. Well done on Neighbours bringing this storyline onto our screens and I'm looking forward to seeing the soap returning to Amazon Freevee A.S.A.P . Shame on Channel 5 in U.K which cancelled the show bringing it to an abrupt end in 2022, but well done on Amazon coming to the soap's rescue and I can't wait to see if Georgie Stone will reprise her role as Mackenzie Hargreaves
No child transgender or not should ever have to go through the pain of being bullies or teased just because of who they are. I blame the parents of the bullies because they are the ones who teach their kids to hate.
What a wonderful and open minded family. The acceptance and love for their children is overwhelming and inspiring. Georgie is such an intelligent and bright young woman. loved this Australian Story so much. I'm sorry to hear that her parents have separated
brendaleetv : my dear brendaleetv im a mother of a son/ daughter I don't know which one but i can see something is not right with him/her . I can't interfere in his life what he will choose to be in life as a woman or a man . Whatever it is , he's/she's still my child ... I wish your parents will accept you as you are.. Whatever you do please do not end up your life in Future because they don't understand you or accept you for who you are... You are not the one who need to seek a shrink. The opposite actually who need to seek a shrink because they don't understand how your body works. (Chromosome) .. Hugs to you, i wish you all the best in life my dear... And opps... Excuse my French F*** others who don understand you . Live your life!!
Honestly, when the video started, I had no idea that I was seeing a transgender girl. She NEVER looked male to me, not even when she was a child. Amazing young woman. I wish her all the best!
The book About a Girl is a great read, well worth the time. I enjoyed it, and also learnt a lot. This family went through hell and supported their daughter all the way, for which I give them respect for standing on their principles and beliefs.
Canadian in Australia: I used to mentor troubled teens in Australia and if a young guy showed any sensitivity or wasn't into sport he was automatically called a "fag". Shame on the parents who raised those rotten minded kids who caused so much damage. My kids were born and raised in Australia until they were 10 and 15 when we moved back to Canada to care for my mother. Even though they'd been raised by my Canadian value system, they were still shocked at how diverse everything is here. They had friends of all colours, sexuality, etc. None of that superficial stuff mattered. I love Australia, it's my second home, but I never fit into the close-minded aspect of the culture. I moved there in 1989 after meeting and marrying an Australian here in Canada. When I first got to Sydney, I couldn't even buy a car without my husband shaking hands with the salesman even though it was my money I was handing over. I was absolutely stunned, to say the least. This was 1989, not 1889!!! My husband was humiliated as hadn't thought to warn me about such things before I moved there. He probably didn't realize what it was like until he saw it through my Canadian eyes. I considered myself to be equal with men but Aussie women were still bowing to their men. Yes, it was really 1989!!! Sydney, big city, educated successful circle of friends. I also learned very quickly not to talk about any of my gay or lesbian friends back here in Canada, as that was not an acceptable conversation. Australia was a very foreign land to be sure. I grew to love it, but just knew what the limitations were. It was home for 16 years and I would never have left if my mom hadn't gotten ill. All my friends there were white, Australian, straight and I knew what was acceptable conversation. Now that I'm back in Canada I can talk about anything and everything and everyone. Much freer. Could I live in Australia again? Absolutely, I love 99% of the experience and know exactly how to fit in and be happy there. I'm sure Australia has come a long way since we left in 2005 but I'm glad my kids finished growing up here to cement their non-judgemental values.
Georgie is beautiful and her family is amazing. May I just say that for being transgender, her voice is lovely. Sometimes when I see a transgender woman, their voice sort of gives it away. Good for you, Georgie, for being so open about yourself and dealing so well with the rude people that you meet along the way. Happy trails to you!
Just read About A Girl ❤️ an amazing family just doing what they needed to do to love their children, all the best for the future 💕💕 nothing but respect
Go Georgie go you're such an amazing young lady to put yourself out there to help other's...I first heard of you and your story when you joined Neighbours and you played Mackenzie with Paul Mercurio as your on screen Dad...your character on the show I think helped a lot of people (especially us older people) understand how hard thing's have been for you...going to court how terrifying that would be for most young people 🙂...thankyou and keep fighting the fight for yourself yes but for other's who are to scared to do it for themselves...lastly your acting in those scene's with your on screen husband Hendrix were when Neighbours was axed were amazing you and Ben had most of us in tears 😥 from now on when I hear The Seekers sing Hey there Georgie Girl I'm going to think about you 💜 oh and your parent's have been there with you all the way when sadly alot wouldn't be
So incredibly proud of you Georgie! You are the most beautiful young woman and I praise you for the indescribable courage that you have. I'm absolutely loving watching Mackenzie on Neighbours and am so proud of you for taking on that role. Be proud of you gorgeous!
Incredible young woman... so nice to see Austrailia moving forward... evolving... being more accepting... embracing love, and equality, and fairness for all... I live in a country where we are unfortunately going the opposite direction... at one time... we use to lead...
I appreciate how this story evolved, showing the gender issues present at such a young age and the parents struggle, as well as the child's, without the obnoxious parading around and waving signs like they do here in the US. This young person just wants to live a normal life without seeking any special rights, like any other teenager would, and I appreciate how articulately she described the process. Best of luck to her...no doubt she will succeed at anything she pursues.
Did you miss the part (at15:44) where Georgies parents were absolutely fearful that they couldn't stop puberty without blockers, and at the time of the filming of this video, trans children had to go to COURT to get approved for puberty blockers. That would not have changed without substantial public pressure like waving signs and parading around. It's called protesting, and they did (and still do) a great deal of that in Australia. You just don't see it on FOX TV. Here in the US, we have to deal with a much larger, much more ignorant electorate about trans rights, so parading around and waving signs is to be expected. Oh, and nobody is asking for "special rights", unless you call freedom from discrimination a special right.
and what a beautiful young woman she is..so pretty and what a .lovely supportive and understanding family that were able to put their child's needs first.I wish them all a happy and prosperous future..xx
Must be so confusing to be born in the wring body and its so good that she has the love and support of her parent's cus not all parent's can accept something like this which is just heart breaking
Since gender is a social construct, if we as a society move away from the black and white / male OR female, then it wouldn't be as awful for those who don't feel they fit into either - prior to colonisation, many cultures around the world had more than 'male' or 'female' gender identities. In Samoa, there is FaFaFine (not spelt right) - the word and identity for boys who are feminine and live as women. It's not big deal. Other cultures simply has what we would call 'a third gender' - male, female, and those who were one gender but lived as the other. People in those societies weren't excluded or made to feel different. They didn't 'struggle' - it was just how it was.
What an intelligent, articulate and driven young woman Georgie is. I'd love an update to see how she's doing now. I'm guessing she's great. To her Mum, Dad and brother- you're all brilliant.
As you may know, Georgie has recently began a role on the Australian soap operas, Neighbours. Her mother has also published a book with the same name detailing Georgie's story and how their family dealt with Georgie's transition. Georgie is flourishing - proudly the first openly transgender character on Australian TV and still actively advocating for trans rights. One incredibly amazing and inspirational young woman.
Why not? I’m an only child, and as a young boy nothing was more fun than dressing up as Miss Hannigan from ‘Annie’ and lip-syncing “Little Girls” whilst playing drunk. 😄
She is a very beautiful young woman. I wish her nothing but the very best for the rest of her life. I wish her family nothing but the very best as well.

Oh thank HEAVENS our world is beginning to come around on this experience !! Yes there’s still a long way to go, some countries and families more than others, but I am heartened that we’ve made progress. Wonderful story! My 2 year old son told me today he doesn't want a penis. For Halloween he wanted to be a Woman! His first ever clothing he showed interest in in a shop was a frilly purple onesie. I hope my kids can be as fluid as they like with gender expression.

I love Georgie's psychiatrist. He seems like an amazingly understanding and accepting person.

How amazing Georgie truly is. Her story (unfortunently still) needs to be shared all over the world. 🌈🌈🌈
There's a great 30 minute doc about her now on Netflix in the UK. What a woman!
@@hazy33 Thank you so much, I'll go watch it right away. 🙏🏻❤
@@MissLoveLife Nice, so much great home footage. The stuff of her and her twin brother playing as kids is delightful. They seem so close.

Video at the end was great....very moving story. I hope the very best for this family.
The ending of this was bizarre. Her old childhood videos set as a music video to an old song. It was just an odd way to end it.
i disagree it was a video she made as a child (you can see her lip singing) and 'I will survive' seems like a perfect anthem for her.
I LOVED the ending!
georgie is such a beautiful young woman. I wish her and her family nothing but the very best for their future.
Why does her brother sound like he's british?
Ok but why have girl dress up stuff in the home if you had no girls prior?
