1) I love all of the Premium 300SL’s. I don’t really care about the doors not opening. I have the Elite 64 and RLC’s for that.
2) All of these Premium Mercs and Porsches are awesome. When I look at the variety and quality (and executions), I definitely find myself liking Premium better than RLC from a collection standpoint. (I still love RLC’s.)
Thanks for showcasing all of these so I can figure out what I’m missing and what I want to track down.

I think the only "Home Run" (of Lamley's choices) I have is that RWB Purple Porsche from Team Transport, among the earlier Team Transports I got when I started collecting, later got the yellow racing Mercedes Benz also from Team Transport
I remember going to Walmart and they had so many they clogged the pegs for months.
Silver and black always are best on MB. I think we need to see a Purple Mercedes 😂 it worked on the RWB Porsche!

@Lamleygroup I always thought the CLK was the same casting as the metalflake purple CLK-LM from 2002
Very common in real life and in models for people to mix up the CLK-GTR, CLK-LM, and CLR.
The Sauber really stands out.

The 560sec amg widebody is easily another homerun and it hasn't been released in premium yet which makes it even more crazy , just in it's basic mainline form it stands out .

Porsche chases win for me in terms of casting proportion. The mercedes black series is quite chunky...and the wheels of the 500 E is not matching with stand and profile..I think the aero disc wheels is more appropriate.
Mercedes definitely wins this battle hands down. Also agree that we need a White (with black rims) C63 black series. And I hope that not all the black Mercedes going forward aren’t chases. I splurged for the last one, but I won’t be doing that very often.
They should also do Mercedes-Benz Actros (2021) premium model

Merc premium era, but Porsche basic era? Sorry to throw that out there haha
While the debut of the 190E 2.5-16 was a turning point for Hot Wheels Mercedes, the front end never quite looked right. For the most part the issue can be attributed to the far too narrow and "squinty" headlights. Hot Wheels would continue with this inaccurate look until the original was revisited and rereleased in the 2021 Target 2-pack. I'm surprised Lamley made no mention of this huge improvement.

Need both of the 911 GT1s; the '96/97 had some tweaks between years to echo the 996, but the '98 version was a completely different car.

Idk i love the few mercs they are makkmg but tbh there are far fewer interesting castings from mb and very few desirqble ones. Porsches on the other hand even trash ones command a hefty price.. like that yellow boulevard being over 200 usd..

The only way Porsche will ever win the die cast war, if they bring back the 928 but with a new casting.
This. Equal size wheels and full detail would be sick for a 928 casting.
Or if they do a 924 Carrera GTS/GTR casting with minor stagger difference on front and rear wheels, that would be even better. ChoroQ did it, why wouldn't HW.
@@PlatinumNath Because the cast is over 41 years old, they stoppped after a couple of years, I wish I had that car in my collection.
Boulevard seriously needs to be canceled IMMEDIATELY!! It's absolutely ridiculous that so many of these great releases only make it into the hands of scalpers and into the hands of very few actual collectors who appreciate these models for more than just their resell value.

Real car enthusiast know why Mercedes is up there with Porsche. There are so many more models that Mercedes makes that are just enjoyable to drive, that have character and amazing sound. Waiting for a premium version of the 560 coupe aka the hammer!Stuttgart makes the best cars to represent Europe 😎🤘.
560 is not the hammer :D that was e class coupe amg.. also not made in stutgart..
White paint with black wheels(black wheels mean you can’t see the details) are his faves and my least favorite combo. Black and silver/gray are my 2nd least favorites…boring! Colors bring out the details in the design, as well as chrome/steel wheels. I agree the Mercs have more variety, they are more interesting at this time, but Porsche is an all time classic for a good reason!
YAY. $80 black cars. Please let those guys at Mattel know that some of us are too poor to pay so much for a stupid Hot Wheels car, but we like them black too. Save the pricey ones for RLC.

I was shocked that you gave the gray 2-pack '72 Mercedes-Benz 280 SEL 4.5 a 10 out of 10. While this casting is absolutely gorgeous, the modern wheels pretty much ruin it for me. I'd give it a 5/10 at best. The olive green version is an 8/10 on it's more appropriate green steelies and the black one a 9/10. The only thing keeping me from giving the debut black one from Modern Classics a 10 is how low it rides. Mercedes should not be slammed into lowriders!

Honestly, besides some classic/oldschool race liveries/castings, race cars overall are pretty damn boring. That yellow mercedes is a pretty good example of a good race car, that red alfa romeo 155 from boulevard too. But those AMGs, those LM racers and all that crap can go, honestly. And the fact that they are peg warmers every single release screams it.
See how even the host here gets excited when talking about the chase sedan, or the wagon e36? That's another example lol nobody cares about those race cars. Give us street, beautifuly stanced ROAD cars and we're happy.
@@henriksti2 Secondary market prices for the CLK-GTR would suggest the opposite; it goes for just as much as the E36 wagon. To each his own, of course; I collect mostly race cars of all brands. I do find it odd that so many "car guys" (this channel included) don't know much about racing.
@@trev3971 Yeah I see your point. I don't know about other people but honestly race cars are only exciting to a certain point imo. It's more exciting to collect, analize, spend time on cars that are reachable to our reality in my opinion. A 30 year old mercedes wagon is more reachable to me than a 1000hp track only car. You see my point? Not excluding you or the other guys which are into that, like you said, to each one their own. But that's my point of view, that's why I mentioned road cars in my original comment.
I'm just going to say it, the chases are a hugely negative feature of the Car Culture line. All it does is exclude a huge swath of collectors from adding what in most cases are iconic versions of these cars to their collections. Want a classic black Mercedes, Porsche or anything in your collection? Well you can forget about it unless you are flush with disposable income to hand off to a scalper for these models.

The black series is not a great casting. It looks too fat and bulky. The Gullwing deserves better than a measly 5! The sedans are done beautifully. Wish the wagon was better.
