Austin is the one to take over the farm. I have thought this for years. It never hurts to get a college degree, give children time to mature, think on there own and appreciate there upbringing.

I was raised on a small farm very similar to yours but in south eastern KY. My father depended on me nearly as much as your husband depends on your son but, when it came time for me to decide whether I went to college or not and what it was I wanted to do, (I had no idea) my Dad was the first to say, "go to college now 'cause if you wait, you never will". On his advice I went to college and I worked on the work/study program where I met an electronics engineer who got me interested in radio and TV. I worked a small radio station in our home town and my Dad was so proud of me and would tell people that was his son on radio. Later I moved on to television production and spent 30 years as a television producer and never returned to the farm. Dad died before I succeeded in my career but he was so very proud of what I did and who I became. Good for y'all!

That happened to my family. We, oursleves had a well established farm, a turn-key operation for us boys to take over. Same with my cousins on my aunt and uncles farm. Not one of the children wanted to farm. I was too young to speak up and to this day, I miss farming.

I've had a bad day trying how to get my son a vehicle since his blew up yesterday and started his internship yesterday at college. This video took away some tension. Ty. God bless you all.

I grew up with four older sisters. And when I would start bugging them. 8:04 and just being a pain. My dad was a electrician, and jars full of nuts, bolts, wire nuts, you name it he had it. He would poo the jars out, I'd have to, sort them all out. 😢 but besides all the chores. Feeding watering the stock. Best life ever. Loveved Rodeoing, the most. I love watching your show. Reminds me a lot of my past. God bless each and every one of you.

I used to clean pools up to 100,000 gallons in Dallas, Tx. and certified. I was a Maintenance Tech. They way we cleaned them was to connect the pool hose to the skimmer while the pool had water. The hose was connected to a pool head kind of like a vacuum cleaner. The pool motor would suck the leaves or dirt or debris from the bottom and wall sides as you guide the vacuum hose. After cleaning the pool you would backwash your pool filter to a drain or in your case the grass or lawn. It is so easy Merdi. There's also Pros that do a great job for good prices that will service your pool annually.

I was an engineer and also farmed part time for 40yrs. My jobs combined elements of both Mechanical and Electrical engineering. It was a good career choice. Never worried about having a job and pay was good. Also with an engineering degree you can move into lot of other job fields. You will find engineers in all kinds of other fields. I know other farmers in my area who got degrees and worked off farm but returned home because they decided that was what they
    really wanted.
Maybe Austin will be the farmer. I know a woman who took over the family farm. She raises Purebred Herford cattle

Watching your poochie, jumping through the grassy knoll, reminds me of a cat we had by the name of scooter, who done the same doggone thing, all the way down through the field, and while I was down there picking blackberries, hate sneak through the grass and the blackberry bushes, the next thing you know I'd reach for a blackberry and I felt Paw, gently slapping at me. !! Little stinker. ! Then we had a dog that recalled Jack. He was a cockapoo. He'd run down through the field too. Mostly when he saw a plane in the air and he'd bark at it while he was running and jumping. So we called him jack. - Jack the ripper - jackazz 😮. He even stole the turkey out of the oven one time when my mother had been basting it. He turned around to put the turkey back in the oven. And he done grabbed it. I never thought I'd ever seen my mother fly throughout the whole ground floor of our two-story ten room home where the broomstick in her hands and give me back that bird. I said mother. Now that you got the bird back what do you tend to do with it. She said well he's not going to get it. We all laughed and we said well we definitely don't want it. BWAHAHA ! GOOD THING WE HAD CORNISH HENS IN THE OVEN AND A DUCK TOO. 😂
LOVE YOUR POSTINGS LOVE YOUR FAMILY HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND. ❤

I've worked on those 555 fords before doing the same thing LB is doing. sometimes its a bear of a job and sometimes a piece of cake. What happens in some cases is the pin gets wear spots on it and it starts to look like a cam shaft with lobes worn into the pin. And some have thrust washers on them that will wear into those groves and falling into the groves to create a locking situation while trying to pull the pins. Bushings get worn out and try to walk out those pin bores as well. It takes a lot of patients. The axle will try to flip over if you raise the tractor too high to replace those bushings. Take care as to use jackstands on both sides if the axle so it can't flip over and hit you in the jaw or your head. It hurts. Ask me how I know. Short cuts aren't always the best way to go. By now you have fixed your tractor. Wish I could be there to help you in person. I started my career working on Ford tractors and worked till I couldn't do it any more. But I have a lot of busted knuckles behind be to help someone else. I started in '78 out of high school worked until My body said no more. That was in 2004. Good luck LB those tractors are very heavy and can fall very quickly. Cylinders leak down fast too. Use multiple jack stands or square cribbing to support the equipt. You work under....your family needs their daddy, husband, best friend, brother, and Son. and some day grandpa. GOD BLESS this Bernard Family in JESUS' NAME; AMEN. ✝🛐✝🤗🤗🤗🤗

Oh my goodness, Austin has quite a bit of perfectionism and takes pride in her working, riding etc. It’s definitely not a bad thing, I mean she did a fantastic job cleaning up the pool. It looks spick and span. Austin, when you do a job right the first time like you did and do then you don’t have to go back and do it again. You sure take a lot of pride in whatever you’re doing and that’s something to be proud of. Sure don’t see that much these days. LB it seems at times that it’s not going to work, but as much as you have pulled apart and put back together you always get it working again. My husband gets in this position and asks God to show him what he needs to know and sure enough he gets an answer. Maybe not that minute but he gets the answer. Don’t we all get a little grumpy from time to time, I know that I sure do. Engineering for Wesley, I am surprised however, my husband is retired but worked at the same company for 45 years as an electrical engineer and ran hard money projects. I believe Wesley will do great at it. He’s quiet, has a great work ethic and definitely a thinker, that’s my husband also. No doubt about he will do amazing and even getting to go earlier to community college just blows me away. I’m so happy for him. My husband was one of the companies top electrical engineers there (yep, I’m bragging on him). I met him at the company back in 1980. I did the whatever needs done job because I was so grateful to have a job making 3.25 an hour. I took classes at work for autoCad then I got into autoCAD around 1988? It seems like they always put me on his projects. He was my boss and then there was another boss above him. People would say I don’t know how you can work together. It didn’t bother me nor him. I just did my job and went home to my husband and would have to remind him at home occasionally that he needed to leave the boss part at work. 😂 We were in the petrochemical business, engineering, construction, fiber optics, etc.. I really did love my job as an autoCAD designer and especially all of the family that were friends that I worked with until 1994. I hurt myself and ended up with a disease called RSD/CRPS. It took forever to be diagnosed, even though it’s been around since the Civil War. I would say that 98% of doctors know nothing about it to this day. It literally took 2 1/2 years to get diagnosed after countless medical tests. I finally had to go on disability because the pain was so severe and that basically put me into depression. If you look at me, you would think that there’s nothing wrong with me, but there is a lot of severe pain. I finally received help in 1997 praise the Lord. Anyway I can’t wait to see which direction Wesley is going to take. Meredith, you were talking about the whisk and your mind is on so many things. That’s when I say my head is spinning and it surely has been this past month. Would you please put your brown gravy recipe on your recipes online. I’m 63 and I can’t remember if I’ve ever made it and I sure could use it especially now. Thank you so much for cooking, calling Duke the high jumper, sure makes me laugh, sharing family and cooking.

About the pin on the backhoe since it was partway out, it probably wore a groove on the pin itself, not allowing it to go back straight. You’re probably gonna have to take it out clean up the pin and put it back.😊

Look into Rose Hulman college in Indiana they may offer Wesley a scholarship. It's a top notch Engineering college.
My nephew and niece went there.

Tell Austin that she did a fabulous job. It was nasty, but she was the only tough & dedicated enough to do that job. That's awesome.
I understand Lawrence's frustration on that job. It should be easy, especially according to everyone else & maybe if he could get an extra mechanical hand out there to help & get a fresh set of eye's, things will click. It's always frustrating when an easy job is hard. he'll get it.
Dinner looks good. I don't like egg plant (looks like rubber), but that dish looked tasty.

I used my 14 gln shop vac but I left the vac outside the pool and just unscrewed the drain cap when it got full. Actually worked really well but is was time consuming.

Even though it has been many moons since I was a teenager myself, I know that for most teens and more so those that grow up in rural areas aka on farms,,, all have a certain look on things. It is best for them to figure out how best to fully complete a task via their own methods, than to always have an adult always telling them how to do it. This allows them to get their own thought process of how to look at difficult tasks and to figure out how to solve the task all on their own. This gives them life lessons they seriously need . There will be tasks in life that they have to face without anyone else around to solve the issues for them. Just as with LB, at times he has to figure out what is causing equipment to not work correctly then he has to repair it. Wes will soon find that he must do the same if he decides to stay with the family farming lifestyle.

Merdi, I think your man is bully enough to take a little ribbing about some project he's found himself roped into . I believe he's been bully on projects a long time now. I'm very sure he loves your support, even if it comes in laughter, keeps the farm runnin' smooth. Bless y'all.

The drawling’s on all of the equipment by all manufactures it’s hard to determine things little details and the position of where parts are it’s difficult trying to understand where they say everything goes. That’s why UA-cam is so special. You can watch somebody put it together hopefully the right way.
