I haven't seen the drama yet but I teared up at the part when she said: "you are my blessing" to her maid servant. I can only imagine how moved her maid must have felt hearing such words from her master.
Some people say that Ruyi's character is weak and a "loser". Ruyi is actually smart and I think the people who don't see the strength have only a fixed mindset about what strong is. Ruyi was actually fighting back in a realistic way. Some examples where Ruyi fought back: 1) When she delivered the scriptures that Gao Guifei had punished her to write to the Emperor after the former had declined her first batch of scriptures. 2) How she got to have the First son to be her foster son when he was being neglected. 3) In the cold palace when the Empress had tried to use the Empress Dowager to get rid of her by sending her the paper money when her father passed away. After this the ED started to see Ruyi in a new light after she saved her from being assassinated. 4) Using Arsenic to poison herself after the many attempts on her life in the cold palace which led to Emperor getting her out. Have to give Hailan a shoutout for the cinnabar risk (she's a real one). 5) Using a different style of embroidery (from her normal one) for the shoes she made for Ling Yunche, as a thank you for all the times he had helped her. This was handy later on to clear cheating allegations against her. 6) Informing the Emperor of the bracelet (birth control) through Gao Guifei, this is better than her telling him directly cause Gao Guifei is closer to Empress and Ruyi wasn't in good terms with the Empress. 7) Swapping the buddha bracelet with a fake one when Jia had accused her of infidelity with the monk. How she put the bracelet in the cake thing and her imitating the Emperor's handwriting to make her point of being framed. Have to give a shoutout to Hailan, Li Yu and Ling Yunche in this scheme as well. 8)Ruyi cutting her hair. She knew the graveness of it and consequences but I believe (we don't know what she was fighting historically) it must have been something that was past her bottom line. As a woman in that time, she couldn't physically defy him and this is one of the few things she could and make her stance. There are many things that I have learnt from this drama, we all don't have to fit to what people deem strong or successful. Having a clear mind and heart, not compromising our beliefs and integrity. I actually find a lot of relatable modern day themes as well. Learning to accept things is also a big lesson, Flowers bloom and flowers fall, there's a timing to them.
How is her character weak? She stuck by her principles throughout her time in the Forbidden City. The Empress Dowager hated her with a passion because of her Aunt (just for being part of the Ulanara clan) to end up respecting RuYi as she stayed true to herself. She never asked for titles and to be favoured.
I like this Ruyi series better than Yanxi Palace. This series feels to have more depth in the story. And I also like the fact that even the protagonist is not portrayed perfect clean, but rather Ruyi as a human with its right and wrongfulness..
Adhi Suryana YanXi’s story pace is fast, and it feels good to see the main character to trample through all the obstacles. Ru Yi shows the side of human nature. She feels love, she feels the pain. Dramas like these always portray that the Empress develops frm a kind, pure lady to a calculative and cruel one in order to become the Empress Dowager. Ruyi, on the other hand still holds on to her initial principles Don’t you think, all of us would wanna be Concubine Ling in Yanxi; but at the end we’re more relatable to Ruyi? :)
An Empress is the Mother of the Nation. Empress XiaoXian was more professional, obedient and a suitable Empress to the Emperor and Empress Dowager, no matter how many wrongs she commited. But as for Ruyi, the way she spoke, upholded justice, fed people and didn't care about honour, made her more of a Mother to the Nation that anyone. The part where she calls everyone by their true name, and not titles, it stands out. She still remembered, not only her biological children, but also the ones who grew up under her care. Zhou Xun did an outstanding portrayal of Ruyi.
It's sad how women had to live in those times. I myself could never do it. I understand that's how it was back then but to be with a man that had God knows how many women. Not for me. Just saying.
It is the price paid for life. Historically in that region polygamy became the norm because of the imbalance. Right from the 6 states Era, Chinese dynasties have fought an insane number of wars, it greatly reduced the male population. Not to say women weren't killed at all. But most women were kept alive because they are the only ones who can birth life. Where as it was destined for men to fight their battles and die. First thing they do when they raid a city is to kill all the men there

In the Qing Dynasty, many poor people could not find wives,they couldn't afford a wedding ceremony. Also, Tibet had a tradition of polyandry.Only rich and powerful men could have many women. It is so amazing that the actual personality of the Royals, their Royal suits, their unscripted dialogues, and actual setting are portrayed perfectly in this Emperial Drama. Even the women's ancient eyebrows were emphasized tremendously. Amazing setting! 👍😍

I may not be able to read 90% of the comments or know exactly what Ruyi is saying due to it being lost in translation... but from watching her life I can't help but know that we are all thinking and feeling the same thing when we watch this clip. Beautiful

These two actresses are really exceptional at showing the deep connection between the two characters, the Empress and her maid who is also a friend. I love them both as actresses and characters.

一開始看如懿傳，前幾集覺得此劇沉悶無聊，一度不想看下去。但後來看到如懿面對種種挑戰磨難時的態度，一如太后所言，她追求善惡終有報並保持初心不變。她除了忠於自我，也尊重每個她遇到的人，不論對她是好是壞。如懿這個角色展現出的高度值得敬佩，這點就讓我足以對此劇回味再三。

如懿的服裝真得很用心，在她死前穿的這身旗裝除了上頭繡著一枝綠梅，領巾末端上繡著青櫻外，就沒有其他裝飾紋樣了，灰黑色的飾帶滾邊和毫無地紋的米色布料，其實會讓人聯想到喪服的顏色，昭示了她生命即將殞落，但綠梅青櫻也象徵她不忘初心，與宮廷格格不入的性格。
且因為不在乎榮華富貴，權力地位，她死前也沒有如她姑母、高晞月、白蕊姬那樣換上彰顯身分的朝服，雖然突然去換朝服既不唯美又不合劇情邏輯，但她卻也沒有穿著皇后應該有的華貴樣子。
我想也暗示了只有綠梅沒有紅荔，少時的青櫻和弘曆已分離，她心中的少年郎已經離她而去，她只是青櫻，不是如懿，不是皇后，只是她自己

看幾次流幾次那種,感覺不像是演的了而是親身經歷就是她自己一樣
而且電視的如懿死的很安詳，小說版是被幽禁後為了讓皇帝疑心炩妃所以自裁，還死不瞑目，容配闔上她的雙眼後也隨之拿剪刀自盡，後來才由婉嬪跟海蘭兩人聯手打下炩妃
小說寫到很多描述看了更催淚，如懿得知雲徹死時的心境真的淚崩，還有如懿對皇上的各種心境描述也非常清楚，看了也更心酸
周迅妳怎麼可以這麽了不起，整部戲周迅總有許多神級別的細節詮釋如懿…💞，小迅演活如懿應該再得獎啊😀

Zhou Xun did an outstanding portrayal of Ruyi.

其實容佩在一開始如懿叫她坐下聊天開始，隨著說話內容，就已經隱約猜到了吧，看她的表情越來越悲傷，好像快哭出來了似的。
感覺如懿叫她去取茶葉，她可能還有點放下心來，想說沒事了。
結果一回來看到如懿那樣，她不是以為如懿睡著了，而是立刻就跪了下去。
代表原本就多少猜到了吧，畢竟是一直陪伴在身邊的人，怎麼可能沒察覺到不對呢？

It is the price paid for life. Historically in that region polygamy became the norm because of the imbalance. Right from the 6 states Era, Chinese dynasties have fought an insane number of wars, it greatly reduced the male population. Not to say women weren't killed at all. But most women were kept alive because they are the only ones who can birth life. Where as it was destined for men to fight their battles and die. First thing they do when they raid a city is to kill all the men there

在帝皇家争斗了一辈子，就算是在万人之上的君主也早就疲惫了吧！如懿传有着太多的经典台词，记得最有印象的是宫廷斗争当中最狠的手段，不为毒身，只为毒心。其实应该很多人都羡慕像如懿这般性格的人。只求善恶终有报，抱有一丝本心。应该说很多人都想做到成为这样的人。只是这个现实的残酷无情打败了很多人的痴心妄想。像这样的人基本很难在这个世界活得长久。
