Lovely that you were able to help a fellow boater. I’m sure he learned a lot faster from having support. Safe travels back to work - enjoy the warmth out there!! You’re very right about the state of the world….becoming increasingly dangerous and confusing. Not great, and leading more people into mental health difficulties and needing support. I’m sure you’d be a great therapist if you go down that route. There are far too few good ones around. Keep safe xx
Super to see you again. Psychology you would be great. Agree with much said. If we don’t see you before have a lovely Christmas and new year plus enjoy the sun abroad. Best wishes always xx
Chris, enjoyed your intro about electric boats etc. Sounds like someone straight out of school has written your country's power policy, as they have here in NZ. Alternative power helps your fossil fuel use and cost, but the grids don't have the capacity to carry the demand, even if you can generate it, and the three year olds have not thought of the costs involved in adding capacity. Business continuity was one of my activities, and boats practice it with multiple power sources. Putting all your eggs in one basket is a recipe for disaster for any business or country. Enjoyed your video as usual. Cheers Jim
you are completely right and our countries power supply grid is completely outdated and wouldnt cope with a full electric car replacement also a question i have on electric narrowboats is if the electrical systems go wrong are they as easy to take to any marina to fix like a diesel narrowboat is or would it require specialist attention ? im sure theirs someone here that would know ?
A lot of topics you briefly touched on need serious discussion! I enjoy that about your vlogs..then your photography! Good to see a newbie on the cut enjoying life x Take care, wherever you go, my friend x
Chris it is great to have you back again. Your comments about energy production is so accurate. There is no perfect anything and pertaining to energy production the best we can hope for is a compromise between two or more forms of energy production. What can be done, and is being done, is more research into less polluting fossil fuels and ways of cleaning our environment for example carbon capture. The number one thing that needs to happen is that the leaders of our countries need to "lead by example". The other thing is that ALL countries need to participate or else there will always be an environmental problem. Mark Alberta, Canada
Interesting how our paths have had a degree of alignment, boat ownership at a similar moment in life and time, and now a next new chapter to therapy training. All the best with it brother, it’ll be a positive personal journey as much as service to others 👍
ah ha that's who bought cheers i did look at that boat i did like the inside layout however i ordered new hence your mate bought it good to see it on the move
Must of missed you by days at Hillmorton!! We've just cruised passed Calcutt heading to Leamington spa. Shane to not have caught up. Stay safe have fun!!!
Chris, Happy to see you back if only for a short while. Your opening words were spot on. My thoughts have long been that we should have been spending our money and time on nuclear energy technology. Enjoy your subtle artistry in your vlogs.
It's good to see you back.. You're clearly in good fettle, in full-on curmudgeon mode! 😂 I agree with you about "greening." Sometimes, older technology is more efficient if you use it wisely. I have a 2011 car that I drive only when the trip is more than 5 km. It only has 163 k kms on the odometer, and I don't need to change the oil more than 2 X a year. The rest of the time, I walk or take transit. It doesn't make sense to buy an electric car. Solar isn't ideal--I live at about the same latitude as Paris, so the crows are flying at 4:00 and the sun goes down by 4:30 in the winter. From what I can see, John has a lovely boat. I'm actually a big fan of labelling, but it has to look good, and is a good idea for the things one might forget. Yes, politics on this side of the planet is pretty crap too, Hoping for the best. Looking forward to your next videos. New scenery, lots to learn and enjoy.
Literally came across you by browsing. Man after my own heart , loved your thoughts on the "nasty" party. Also other things which made sense. I will be looking out for you in future!
Perhaps I’m wrong but there seems to be a movement to encourage more householder to produce and store energy, and sell it back to the grid when it wants it, it’s not massive and you don’t get much out of it, but small steps can become a stampede, love the vid by the way 👍
Nice soundtrack. The colours popped. Good cuts. I used Better Help earlier in the year and the UK woman that I worked with was good. Problem was when I was done I ended up having to cancel my Debit card because the company carried on charging after I canceled my subscription. Good on you Chris. Take care
Good to see you and a great vlog ...... You talk so much sense and what the silent majority think, I thought I was listening to a Reform candidate !!! Safe travels and Happy Christmas😂
nice one fella ,,it looked a great day on the cut ..my take on the whole energy thing is. the less people a country has the less energy a country use,s ..prevention rather than cure ..ect ect
We have the same problem here in the usa we need balance .. some areas need more power than others.. I don't think one thing covers all.. any way it was a great pleasure to meet you when I was there.. I hope the knee is still doing well.. you have a great Christmas and a happy new year ..
Good to see you back Chris. I to the left of Labour as there's not much difference between Labour and the Tories but the last lot of Tories were abysmal even by their standards. Anyway always enjoy your videos look forward to the next one have a great Christmas and New Year 🎉
Good to see you again. I agree that there are many strange and weird events happening in the world.. Some are good and some are bad. I hope that people will make the most sensible and smart choices as the world goes through these times. Enjoy your travels.
Chris very level headed thoughts as always. Yep Nuclear is the way to go with better technology now and even nuclear waste is reusable.. We certainly need a stable power source even on our electric Narrow boat with it's huge bank of batteries wouldn't run all the time on solar 24v 1000w Watch the vlog from David at Crushing the cut (peace in the pod) the battery can run our fridge and laptop WiFi etc for 10 days but in winter we either need to cruise or plug in so yes your correct we need a backup Keep it going Chris Arthur Narrowboat Tranquility
Hi Chris, keeping it real as ever chap👍🏼 looking well mate, just be mindful it may not be a good thing to wear summer dress, you might get arrested.🤣🤣🙃 cheers.
Fearless, and balanced, while calling out the Net Zero scam. Supporting the effort to go green with Lithium and Solar, while explaining the limitations. You, Sir, are a credit to the notion of common sense. More power to you.
Enjoyed this vlog, and great music. Yep it's a crazy world right now. I don't have a tv so only get internet news, no main stream media, you can't believe anything they say. I think you'd make a good counsellor, have a great Christmas 🎄🎅🌟
Hi Chris Good to see you again and a great Vlog. Now to "Green Energy", its' just not viable on a commercial scale. I live in South Australia which has the biggest input to the network of Green Energy in the world, and our electricity bills, per capita, are the highest in the world. Before anyone replies to this message, providing me the benefit of their views, then may I ask they view the following, both of which the average person will find confronting! a. Utube - Planet of the Humans. Produced by a former Pro Green Activist he realised the misinformation the public are being fed. There has never been a Solar panel or Wind farm produced that will ever give back the energy it took to produce. We are destroying the future of the next generation for our own self-serving needs. b. Utube - Sky News Australia - The True Cost of Net Zero. Explains the infrastructure and cost required to establish a so called Green Network. It also points out that when the sun doesn't shine, or the wind blow the entire system requires a 100% back up from fossil fuel to maintain supply stability. Technology is not at the stage to support all the political claims being made throughout the world i.e. power generation and battery storage. So who will pay? You don't have to be that bright to realise its' the consumer. Every major Electrical generation company acknowledges the public are in for a huge shock in the coming years, lights are going to be turned off. As an ex nuclear submariner I have literally sat on 6 Reactors and spent years confined within a few meters of the technology so understand the physics and how safe they are. Without doubt Nuclear Energy is the safest, cleanest and most reliable energy source available to the human race. When will people start waking up to reality? As mentioned previously if anyone wishes to reply to me then all I ask is watch the two programs above. Good luck with the phycology, I reckon it will be an excellent string to your bow Mel
Hi Chris, It was great to see you back on the tube. Now I've followed you from the start and really enjoy your videos , although I don't always agree with your point of view. All three party's have run down the armed services over the last 30 years, and the UK needs to fill the black hole , however much, and spending it in Ukraine won't fix that. I wouldn't ever buy an electric car and not really a big environmentalist, I'm a carnivore for one, and apparently, that is the wrong diet to have for the planet. You talked about nuclear power but didn't address the elephant in the room. How do you get rid of the waste? Anyway, I'm glad you're back.
Hi Chris great to see you back again iv been wondering how you are and how you have been ? As for government and politics iv now completely switched off to it all and when it comes to both governments we,v had and we have iv been so disappointed iv actually had my name removed from the voting register as I no longer want any part of it it makes no difference 😊😊
Hello Chris .. There you are. - How many renames & management changes has that UK nuclear pile in Cumbria (aka Cumberland) "Calder Hall" had since her majesty opened it 1952? Four or five, or more - but it's still leaking deadly radiation eh. I can see it from here in NZ. - I'd like to Uni study human cell biology but it's getting late ..
Lots of Food For Thought there Chris…. What can I say… our generation has fucked it up… plastic waste, pollution etc - what are we leaving our next generation 😳 I am an avid believer that there is no such thing as “free energy” well not yet!!! There is always as offset hidden cost… be that material costs, production costs to harness or waste costs… I have looked into hydrogen, but there is still the cost of making it… but I do believe it’s a better “energy storage” solution than battery’s 🤔 and it’s a more natural resource than minerals or fossil fuels. Anyway rant over lol, it’s good to see you helping out in the community and passing on hard learnt advice… Nice to see you doing well, if you don’t post before have a good Christmas Pal 👍🏻
Labour have been really bad. The Tories were bad aswell. On the eco front they both terrible. We have the most expensive electricity in the developed world. I'm sticking with my gas combi boiler. No heat pump for me.
Well said Chris, all the best mate...
It's such a treat to see you again! Thanks for coaching John (I think he did GREAT) and for this delightful video. Such a pleasure, as always.

Good man, helping out others, great to see, helping out, gives life to the soul. Don't like to comment on politics, but hidden agenda's etc etc.
Good to see you back Chris interested to catchup with what has been happening in your life and what the future plans are.

Electric boats... You are correct. As you know we have electric and in Oct we had no sun for 3 weeks. Genny needed every 3 days.
