You, sir, are the Mister Rogers of photography, which is, honestly, the highest compliment I can pay. Your message is that photography is about the experience, about learning more about yourself, doing your best absent expectations or comparisons, and making images as a way to relate to people. In a world of endless gear reviews, your channel is so refreshing and welcome!

Great advice! It’s always nice to hear professional photographers remind us that it’s hard for them, too. And you are so right when you say that it’s about the enjoyment of the process. Take the pictures that we like, not the ones we think others will like.

That's exactly how it is. In one of my last articles I wrote about our over-creativity. It prevents us from recognizing the special in the banal. We're always looking for the one-legged pirate with a parrot on his shoulder. There is hardly anything more exciting than the everyday. The joy of doing something is what makes us mature. Photography is passion! Basically, there is more potential in the process than in the result. Because even if we return after hours without results, many processes have taken place. I wish us all good luck, but above all lots of joy!! Thank you, dear Paul, for your important thoughts! Sincerely, Dirk

Flat lighting can be really nice sometimes too, so flat light doesn't always mean no photo. Granted I understand that depending on your expenses with film that might be a bit more risky. But I've definitely seem some top shelf photographs taken in flat lightning.

Great vid Paul, thanks. I’ve never subscribed to the ‘you’re only as good as your last job’ mantra. Every time you raise the camera to your eye there’s a new opportunity. The rest is up to you. I love the voice in my head that says ‘that’s the one, that’s the shot’…👋🇦🇺

Never thought about if I've already taken my best image. Really makes you think! Good vid too.

I'll be traveling to Scotland besides the UK electric power adapter , how can I charge my Q2M battery via USB in the Car? Can you recommend an adapter. ??

Unfortunately I’ve never used one so I don’t know which would be any good. Glad you’re going to be taking some photos in Scotland though
