Thanks man, i have a bad intermittent misfire. Sometimes i get in the car it starts fine and drives fine. Sometimes il get in and it start rocking like mad. I have replaced ignition coils(all with oem) and sonetimes that works. Sometimes i end up with the gaps in one or more spark plugs closed up. Ive also had a bit of fuel on those spark plugs before on these occasions. One thing that vould have caused it is wrong spark plugs when i had it serviced in January when i first got it because they aren't ngk... I niw have some ngk's that i will install tomorrow along with some fuel system cleaner... I really hope this solves my problem along with the knowledge from your video and comments 😎👍👍👍
Homebrew Instrumentals, thank you for the comment! I noticed on my Audi that there was a strong smell of fuel on my spark plugs, which turned out to be a sticking fuel injector
There are three reasons a car will misfire, fuel, spark, or air (vacuum leak). Since you replaced coils and plugs, there could possibly be a sticking Injector or a vacuum leak. I hope I was able to help without droning on.
@@ggsgarage2859 roger that! Thanks pal. Well yesterday i swapped out the plugs and put some fuel system cleaner in the tank... I gave the car a good rag around some country roads for an hour plus been out twice in it today with no issues... Im gonna give it 2 weeks and if at the end of that the issue hasn't returned then happy days 😎👌 i will report back here to let you know if i remember past the lemon haze 👀😂
Thanks for the tutorial. I have a question for you. I found the convertible version of this car. It's has the 225 engine. The owner said it needs a new computer and he has it. Also car has misfire on cylinder 2. Are those easy fixes?
Thanks for commenting. Cylinder misfire should be as easy as a coil pack or plug replacement, preferably both. However the Ecu is paired to your immobilized, ignition etc which will need to be coded using VAG-COM or taking it to a shop. Good luck with the car. :)
Finding the third bolt on all that vaccuum stuff on top of the 3rd and 4th coil was not easy. Would have been helpful to have the video from that step.
@@ggsgarage2859 Thanks. Turns out there were 5 Allen bolts holding down 2 different brackets. Of the 8 Allen bolts holding down the 4 coil flanges, 5 of them were holding down brackets as well. One of then really needs to have a circular ended Allen wrench because of the tubing above it.
Do you have a link or description for those aftermarket tail lights? I’d love to get a pair for my TT. Thanks
Yes for sure, rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F173286805204

Excuse the typos, my phone is awful.

These coils look exactly like our 2002 TT despite the fact that multiple parts sites say that the coils without flanges would fit. They won't.

Great vid mate cheers 🍻
Looks to me like its misfiring because the outside of your plugs are covered in oil....you needed to change the cam cover and plugs gasket imo.
What exhaust are you running? Enjoyable video!
Thanks Vince The Prince! I’m running a 3” catless downpipe, with a muffler delete.
@@ggsgarage2859 damned would've thought so. This is illegal in my neck of the woods... sadly
@Vince The Prince, you could probably run a catted downpipe if your state allows it. There’s not much of a difference in sound from what I’ve seen.
@@ggsgarage2859 that might be an option, thanks!

David Winsemius, we’ll keep that in mind for the next video, thanks!

Where are you located I need your contact
Does the code 16684 which I think is misfire code. Would this fix it?
Donovan Petermen does it show a multiple-cylinder misfire code?
