reCharkha - The EcoSocial Tribe is a Social Enterprise working to Conserve the Environment and Enable Tribal and Rural Livelihoods.
We UPCYCLE waste plastic such as Polybags/Plastic Bags, Biscuit or Wafer Wrappers and other Multi-layered packaging, Audio and Video Cassette Tapes using a traditional CHARKHA (Spindle) and HANDLOOM to weave it into a fabric. This unique process is designed to provide LIVELIHOOD opportunities to our TRIBAL WOMEN and YOUTH.
The process finally yields an UPCYCLED-HANDWOVEN fabric, which is then designed and tailored into handcrafted utility items such as Handbags, Fashion Accessories, Home Décor and Office Stationary products. These products are presented in our online shop www.recharkha....
