Got mine today and the top fell and hit the bottom. If you want to fix, bend the 2 pins bottom hinge inwards by a hair and it wont hit anymore. This lighter is awesome by the way!
I got one to use daily. I must say the case itself scratches easily. But im not surprised seeing as copper is a softer metal than brass. Also, my copper zippo doesnt open all the way like yours does. Should compare it to the second one you bought.

I just love Z!ppo, I love the way the company utilized marketing genius to retail what is ostensibly the same product for over 90 years. Just manufacturing out of different metals with different designs and hey presto 600 Million Z!ppo's sold internationally. With 28,000 Z!ppo's leaving their doors every week!! I'm also guilty of buying about 100 Z!ppo's leaving 599,999,900 for the rest of you!
That's very unimpressive that the black scratches so easily. What a shame. Still very beautiful. I can imagine it will scratch quite a bit just from removing and inserting in lighter
It's a really nice looking lighter but a little pricey. The first website I found that sells it was asking $63.75 American so in Canadian funds, that's at least 80 dollars. Is copper really that expensive now or are these guys over-charging, bearing in mind that I bought a rugged stainless steel Zippo at Walmart a few years back for about 13 dollars.
They are definitely charging a premium for it. Copper is currently selling for under $4 per pound. Not sure how much R&D and manufacturing cost but they gotta be making a decent profit.
I purchased one of these. The cool box came a little scuffed but the lighter was perfectly fine. I want one for using, but I’m wondering if I should buy another preproduction model so I get a box that is undamaged or wait for the full model that might be lower priced?
@@quitinstudios2321 just figured out what had happened to mine. Basically when they tarnish the become soft. And surprisingly soft. I don’t sit around and try to bend any zippo when I buy one unless the insert elevates, to make it stay in place. So I had forgotten the strength of it. I’ve had mine for a year. I wanted to avoid cleaning the surface of the copper did the inside instead and it went right back to how a strong metal zippo feels. Something to share

Cleaning them is apparently a must. I did the inside but I’m guessing the surface will have to be polished eventually. Perhaps the answer for these should be the armor case. Perhaps the same will happen to them due to the malleable properties of copper. Have nothing else in copper or ever did. Find it strange if this should be the case for other copper items. Know the bottom of my nonstick pan hasn’t deformed how this lighter just have, now that I remember I do have items with copper.
Hello Boss....them zippon Still Virgin Sounds No Good! need WearNTear / Brakein / Used / etc. the Sound Ring/Ting/Zing/click/thurderclap/etc, them Zippo will Sound way much Clearer n Sharp. Just my point of Experience . Correct me if im wrong Boss.

Yeah but in all fairness this is a "preproduction" model. Hopefully they can come up with a more durable finish for the production version.

Bro, a nice Zippo video would be the strongest metals for zippos type video. Like they have 18k Gold to Titanium, all the way to steel.

Yeah filling it up is definitely gonna mark up the bottom part. Just gotta be careful not to scratch up the chimney.

Might be better off waiting for a possible production model. I doubt the box condition will effect resale value by much.
