I melted when your sweet little fella said "Good job". You are growing some fine veg but also growing a great little human!!! Thanks for this video! I needed it today👍😊
I always seem to have issues with brassica seedlings becoming leggy, despite having them under a grow light 16 hours/day. My fall brassica seedlings are doing it again now. I didn’t realize I could bury the stems like tomatoes! I’m going to try that.
That yawn! That kid is so cute. Reminds me of my bff, she was growing plants in the backyard and I witnessed her middle child straight eat beet greens from the yard. I was baffled because he was like 6 years old. -- My babies look a little leggy. If my leaves are sort of light/white and wilty do you think it's not getting enough light?
Yes definitely. Tomatoes are the best plant to do that with and it’ll actually help the plant grow faster and stronger with more fruit come bloom time because it has a bigger root system with more access to nutrients
The greenhouse is looking great! I'm making my first attempt at growing from seed, just greens for my tortoise and bearded dragon. I've got sprouts...just have to figure out where I'm going to go with them outdoors since I rent and don't have a garden :) I'll probably try containers and see what happens. They are just dandelion and collard greens...but lots of them :)
Funny I had the same problem just happen with my Waltham 29. I have shop lights 3 to a shelf but this hasn’t happened with any other tray of brassicas with my same setup. Very strange. Glad to see a video on this prob!
The answer is YES, yes you can. They root below soil. Video updates are always live as we complete in the garden so you’ve really gotta be a subscriber to get all of the real time updates in our gardens 😀
How much root do you expect a plant to grow in 20 minutes? Look on the suggested videos list, and see the follow-up video. Come ON! It's not TikTok! Most of the people here have at least STARTED puberty!

Brocolli grows little sprouts along the stem so if they were deeper the should turn into roots under the ground.
Congrats on the 20k subs! We are glad to be a part of your channel!
Thank you!! I’m very excited, almost to 25k 😊 glad to have you here too. I love the gardening and small farm community!
Good for you raising your boy gardening
I was told Brassicas will get leggy with too much heat - even with strong lights.

Same here! It was a fun experiment with interesting results. Good luck!

I put date so I will know when I germinate them. Ty
A fan or steady gentle breeze will help keep the legginess at bay.
I'm excited for the Cherokee Purple too, I had one sprout with potato leaves!
Are you able to bring seedlings from inside under lights to an outside unheated greenhouse without hardening off?
It's good that you do your own thing and not just repeat what all the other idiots do
17 min. Really fun?
Is it just me or did he not actually go back to the broccoli and let us know if it grew roots or not???
HE did NOT
Mine are all leggy!
I let chat gpt tell me to germinate 5 days in the dark and they all leggy sunflower and planting they are breaking easy too
So for those of us who don't have time to listen to 20 minutes, is it a yes or no?
