I'm absolutely in love with my Baby Lock Accolade and I couldn't be happier with it. I hope that this video gave you all the insight you need to make an informed buying decision. If you have any questions, ask away! I'm an open book and would love to help.

I've been sewing for 25+ years and I really want to start sewing knits...but the general consensus is that a serger is your best bet. I know my dearly departed grandmother used a regular sewing machine with ballpoint needles successfully, but I've yet to master her technique. Guess it's finally time to take the plunge.

Sewing knits on a domestic machine can definitely be tricky. I do have two recommendations though. If you’re interested, the Sommar Camisole by Paradise Pattern has great beginner friendly instructions for sewing knits on your domestic! It would be a great starting point. You may also be interested in Mettler Seraflex thread. It’s a stretchy thread that allows you to use a straight stitch on knits that won’t pop 🥳

Good video filled with common sense for sewing. Providing a person learns how to use & care for their sewing machine, they will get years and years of use. I too shopped & found a machine to purchase, saving my money up to buy it. It was worth every penny as I still sew on it today after 45 years! OMG

That’s so sooo amazing!! I love buying quality items that are made to last. Saving up for them is absolutely worthwhile. Im so happy that your machine is so trusty! ❤️

I absolutely agree with you when you say spend the extra when buying a machine. I have the Ovation Serger, Pathfinder Embroidery and the Soprano Sewing machine. All three of these machine enhanced my ability to sew. I am currently building a repair, alteration and embroidery business. After sewing on cheaper machines I discovered they spent more time in the shop than working; which is frustrating to say the least. Even though I prefer to do alteration I've been commissioned to make a wedding dress. The bride has requested me to embroidery flowers on to the tulle and yes this is my biggest job, yet. Sewing for me has been a hobby for 40 years and now its a money making hobby. Equipment no matter your hobby plays an important role in how you preform. I truly enjoyed your take on sewing. May your Sewing be blessed with work and fun.

Thank you so much for sharing! When my previous sewing machine broke, I was a mess. It was at the very beginning of the pandemic too so I couldn’t get it properly fixed. My partner and I gave it our best go, but it was a lost cause. It had been in my family for a very long time though and I can’t imagine anyone before me had properly serviced it haha either way, I’m so happy to have good machines now. I love them dearly and they do all the heavy lifting for me. And oooh how exciting! I was commissioned to do a wedding dress for the first time too! It’s was such a scary and happy overwhelming feeling to be asked haha I would love to hear how yours turns out! ♥️

Where can I find good videos on how to use this machine? Threading, changing stitch width, starting and stopping, and much more?

Thanks for the video. The Accolade is on my list of machines to purchase. I frequently see videos from folks that are so boring and uninformative. Granted, I don't view then for long, I can't stand the babble! Your video is informative and you get your point across without "babbling on!" I will be looking for more of your videos!

I’ve heard the same comment about having to switch over needles and threads from the serger to the cover stitch was to much of a hassle. I kind of agree but, I’m happy with my accolade and am glad I have both because your right…I don’t have the space. (And money for two machines) 😳
    Thanks for your video.

For sure! Also something I don’t think I mentioned in this video is that most sewing machine stores do demos, so people can go in and see for themselves if changing the threads over seems like too much of a hassle, which is great to know before purchasing 👏🙌

Thank you for your video, I’m a few months out from getting one being that I just bought an embroidery machine. I think I’m going to go with this one now lol, it does beautiful stitching and I really love the wave function.

Congrats on getting an embroidery machine! And yay! I truly can’t recommend the Accolade enough. It was a big investment for me, but it’s truly the best sewing investment I’ve ever made. People often comment on my garments looking “professional” and while I’d love to take credit, the credit really belongs to my machines haha 😂

Thank you for your info, I also have purchased the BL Accolade and am loving it. About switching to the other function, do I have to remove the needles before I sew in The other function? Thank you for your help

Hi! Yes, to switch from an overlock to a cover stitch, the position of the needles do need to move over

I live in the SF Bay Area. My friend has this machine, but wants to sell it. Any idea how or where to post it for sale? She bought it, but it's more than she needs for the projects she's doing.

Hi! My best recommendation is Facebook marketplace. It’s a great way to sell used items. You could also trade it in at your local sewing machine store. Hope this helps!
