i am now imagining this as an actual video game where randomly in the final act you're in a completely random new character's pov and you have to fight yourself... but when you look at the options you're given, you only see one: *hide*
I'm super hyped for the Time Dive. My prediction is that it'll be in "We'll Be Fine" since that seems to be when Telemachus reassures Athena and she decides to help Ody actually get back home. It also has a clever meta parallel since if she's finding his location in "We'll Be Fine" then we actually cut TO where Odysseus is in "Love In Paradise" which then leads to "God Games" as she takes action
Agreed! On iTunes someone commented that the songs were too repetitive and I was like um sir clearly you don’t understand musical theory! It’s the motifs, foreshadowing, and referencing the character arc beautifully!! Jorge is AMAZING!

Something I LOVE about song 38 is how Odysseus' name is sung in the Danger is Nearby motif, signifying how, in the pov of the suitors, Odysseus is a giant threat, like how Polyphemus and Poseidon were for him
The hero corruption arc is PERFECT with Epic! We follow Odysseyus' story from the BEGINNING, with him as this warrior and commander, a hero to the greeks, and then a more optimistic and open hearted version as he tries his very best to remember the lost, to him in the sly and playful-ish stage for a tiny bit during Circe. Then we get a more serious side as he's bombarded and literally FACED with past trauma and people whom he lost before the REALISATION, the corruption and the RAGE, it HITS. The monster inside him fully finds a place inside a COMPLETELY different beast, becoming the embodiment of ruthlessness, something that is SO different from the beginning, it's no longer HIM. I LOVE those stories and it's SO hard to find! EPIC is a PERFECT example of this!! Like, the MC *IS* the FINAL BOSS!! I'm SO excited for that!!
Sometimes I dont think we would notice certain things in EPIC if Jorge didnt take the time to explain it to us. He is a genius in creating parallels, musical messages and musical motifs etc. He is doing this as passionate as a person can about their likings. Love it.
Honestly yeah. I’m not sure I’d have ever even noticed the “danger is nearby” motif without him pointing it out, but since he did, I listen for it in almost every song. These little videos are also what made me start looking for other motifs, and noticing the clever choices, and I can really appreciate it so much more!
The narrative in Epic is so well-thought-out and it shows. At this moment in time, the clips we have of the suitors’ battle against Odysseus is my favorite part for exactly the reason described here.
Yeah, all this time, we get to experience the danger motif when odysseus is facing gods or monsters, but when he is facing mortals, the danger motif not only shifts to him but also sings his name.

Bringing song 38 back in King Odysseus aims for the torches just like Scylla does in the Thunder Saga. It's a nice parallel to the line he sings with her "we are the same you and I" I love the writing of this story!

I love Epic, every song is amazing! Detailed and musically beautiful! The thought and planning that goes into each song does not go unnoticed! I work at a library and when someone comes in and checks out something vaguely related to mythology I tell them about it! I can’t wait for more and will continue to listen to it on loop until the part comes out! ❤
One of my favourite things about writing my own music is putting symbolism and intention behind every piece of it, so when I see someone else do the same thing and get excited about it, I also get very excited about it

Because you've mentioned before how the Dive to the Heart is such an inspiration for you when it comes to Athena's Quick-Thought ability, I just know for a fact that I will have crazy flashbacks to Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, the opening of KH3, AND the moment in KH3 where Sora's using the Power of Waking to find his friends' Hearts. Man, I love Athena.

I love the emphasis on perspective-switching! Also, basically any songs that take place in Ithaca are from the pov of Telemachus, Penelope, and the suitors which I can’t wait to hear! There’s also God Games which’ll be from Athena’s pov (and I’m so hyped for!!)

A couple days ago I was listening to thunder bringer and I liked listening to the snippets of songs you put on UA-cam and I realized that Zeus’s music sounded like the music in the snippets of God Games and I said out loud ‘That’s his instrument!’ And confused my brother
The Time Dive, I hear: 1. Aelous's Island Theme (which happens at the end of Storm AND at the start of Keep Your Friends Close. You basically summarized over half of Ocean saga in one melody string!!!!! JAY YOU ARE A GENIUS!) 2. Ruthlessness 3. Circe's motif but in Done For's style and beat 4. No Longer You
On top of all that I noticed a slight shift in POV in Thunder Saga. Likely intentional but we see from Odysseus' POV but he hides things from the audience and the crew as we see his downwards spiral from Monster. Suffering into Different Beast is a clear example of this but so is Scylla with his 6 torches plan that we only get confirmation on it being planned when Erylocus forces an answer.
IT IS SO COOL when you talk about these things it confirms my theories! The fact that I perked up when you started talking about telemachus and the suitors really says something 😂
