Love my Tray2Grow, just cruising into flower now. Pollinated some branches after watching the videos. Thanks for showing us that anything is possible. Even on an extremely small scale.
@SalBlydenburgh I used lava rock in one and pumice at the bottom of another. My goal wasn't to create a full rock layer but to have a more rock to coco ratio than I did at the top. Probably just a one inch layer at the bottom with 70/30 rock/coco vs up top where that is reversed to 40/60.
I met this guy at Higher Grade at their cherry creek location years ago and I'm barely discovering this channel lol, love your content bro. Funny enough our grow styles and ideas are really similar.
13:17 Jeremy, you’ve got it right. I looked on the website and took some screenshots and looked at the setup video and they both dictate the gray sides go down and the copper side of the root blocker goes upward. Thanks for the demo.
And the cloth bag pots are too flimsy. Roots, generally, do not enjoy being disturbed. A raised bed pot, with a hard frame, would solve this issue. I love it.
We truly appreciate you and thank you for choosing and supporting BuildASoil. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions. Happy growing!
Hey, Jeremy and the gang. Just a quick tip for the cacti in your tent. I'm a cactus grower myself and have been for years. The reason your trichocereus cactus is growing kind of goofy like that is too much nitrogen. The nitrogen is causing the cactus to shoot up growth giving it that silly looking thick at the base and skinny up top look. Cacti should be fed little to no nitrogen, ever. At best you can use your BuildABloom product a few times a year. Cacti don't really need fertilizer or boosters because their roots are very good at harvesting nutrients from the rocks in the soil. Stop feeding them with the same solution you're using to care for the rest of the tropical tent, and instead make a separate solution for the cacti. That goofy looking growth will stop and your cacti will look the way nature intended. It can't be fixed at this point. Slice off the top growth and let pups start from the healed top. At that point you can remove one of the maturing pups, let the wound dry, and then put the pup in soil and roots will shoot out in no time. Also, consider removing it from your soil and switch to 100% inorganic soil. Your soil is built for fast growing plants, like cannabis. Use pumice, lava rock, limestone, zeolite, sand, etc. Make a simple mix of one or more of those ingredients and your cacti will love you for it. Anyway, in case you were wondering why it looks like that, now you know. Take care!
I have a 4x8 bed using blu mats. I would convert to this smaller footprint, running 5 of them. At $1000, though, seems a bit steep.. i would like to see packages to make it more affordable. Would also like to see it in action, filled generously with soil.. as if it were the 5th cycle. (Sides pillowing out) I'm curious to know about what type of mold, or anything living for that matter, would harbor in the tray. Fungus gnats? I would like to see footage of the tray being filled, where the waterline will sit, how the fabric reacts to the wicking process, how far up the water wicks on the sides of the bed.
yes he has, and if you need to partial harvest - especially for ur first runs absolutely do it, try not to remove more than 50% or it might stress and take too long to recover
Great video! I love the idea of this tray, I just wish they made it big enough to fill a 2x4 tent. It's just a little undersized for my liking. Here's hoping they come out with full 4x4 and 5x5 sizes. That would bring SO much simplicity into my life. Can you pass that along, Jeremy? They seem to listen to you! (For good reason) 😁
I just bought a house in Jupiter Florida and am slowly transitioning from New York. Anyway, most of the plants that you’re growing in this tent literally grow wild in my yard. Fun to see them in a tent! You should look into growing the miracle fruit which is a small bush and it produces tiny fruit the size of grapes. You’re more likely to get fruit indoors instead of trying to go for mangos. The miracle fruit makes everything taste insanely sweet so once you consume one you basically realize how sweet all the stuff you’re consuming is. Look it up, it’s a popular thing right now - miracle fruit.
I also have some miracle fruit plants. They’re awesome. Especially during the hot summers. Eat a couple fruits, cup of water and one lemon/lime, and drink the best lemonade you ever had without a single granule of sugar. I was thinking about sending Jeremy some seeds.
I have both the AC Infinity fiber bags (with the bases) and the 15 gal. GrassRoots bags. I like the grassroots interior lining better, but the AC Infinity bags are a bit taller for my top dress build up, and they have 2 things that make them better, 2 really sturdy handles and a sewn in seam with metal grommet holes for tying over some branches - although 8 holes would be better than the 4 they provide. I had to burn holes into the fabric sides of the Grassroots to tie off the plant for LST which is a weak fix. I made bases out of plastic, 3" deep water heater type catch trays that have a thru side fitting with screw cap. Then put in the 1 thick (or more) grid (cut to fit) from overhead lights to set the bags on with several/many wicking rope material up and under the bags and back down into the water. Works great. Unfortunetly the AC bases only go to 10 gal. sizes. I grow most in 15 and 20 gal. bags so have to make the same bases for them as I do for the Grassroots (but it's cheaper). They AC Infinity bags have proven to be better. (to me) Not automatic reservoir fed but they hold lots of water. Ask Grassroots about adding those things. Everything comes from you guys (mostly, but you are so far away) including the 250 gal Grassroots mixing bag that I make my soil in. I added a Bluemats auto water system to make it almost carefree. The AC bags are sturdy and hold their shape better. One really BIG thing you missed on the Autopot system - price??? How did you miss mentioning the price? Must be a lot? As a market gardener that is important... Maybe I'll get one to try, but... A small low speed open air line keeps the water at a slow-moving gurgle
I also love growing spinach trees there cool and have a lot of health benefits after u boil the leaves as there toxic otherwise if ingested tons of uses for them
I wish there was a 32" by 32" grassroots pot and an autopot for it. Something perfect for a 3x3 tent. Currently the 3x3 grassroots pots seem like they would be too big for a 3x3 tent.
3x3 goes in a 4x4. 4x4 goes in a 5x5. That's what most do anyway. In a 3x3 I believe 4 20 gallon with trays fit pretty good. That will give ya about the same cf of soil as a 3x3
nope 3x3 is 90x90cm and 15-20 gallon pots are 50cm/20 inches@@vinniez2188 Please don't talk out of your asslips. At least see if things are physically possible before saying it You'd have to see if 3x15-30gallons will fit, or go for a circular fabric bed like a 40/50/60 Gal What I do is use a 3d design program to drag models around to see what fits in x.
