Is it worth visiting? The Magna Science Adventure Centre, Rotherham, UK.

I had read many poor reviews of Magna to the point I nearly didn't visit. In the end I spent most of the day there and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I have a science/engineering background so I will be a bit biased but I could certainly see how the remains of the steelworks, apparently untouched and immensely dark could put kids off. The hands on Pavilions are geared to children and the ones I saw appeared to be loving it (especially the water pavilion and the JCB diggers at the end).
Lots of walking required (it really is a big place) and if your kids can handle the darkness (as seen in the first half of the video) then they should enjoy it.
Personal highlight was the fire tornado which I went back to many times (partly to film in slow motion, over and over....)
