well, there's a trick about Prepositions with transportation which is (anything you can walk in it) Use = "On" for instance : ( "on the bus", "On the subway", "On the ship" and "on the plane), On the contrary (anything you CAN NOT walk in it) Use = in for instance : ("In the car", "in a truck" and "in a helicopter") >> so bottom line : If you must sit inside the vehicle, we use in. (it is almost impossible to stand in them.) --------- If you can stand or walk on the vehicle, then we use on. i hope that's helpful for anybody! and of course ,, i agree with you ,, we have to learn prepositons in context ... ^_^
i found the most way to learn english like a native english speakers do, is through a videos that persons like you do, thanks a lot Emma. and you have reason phrasal verbs are really difficult to remember . but the way you teach it . is really easy to learn it
Thank you so much emma because we need to learn how to use phrases verb everyday and this lesson really helps us a lot. I have been learning english for almost five years and i have always seen your videos . Greeting from Chile .
OMG!!! This video helped me a lot! Thanks teacher for always helping us, I try my best to speak and write everything correctly... Sometimes it's hard but we need to practice EVERY SINGLE DAY you know! I almost can understand everything you're saying on this video. Love xxx

It is an outstanding way of teaching ... based on demonstrations. I can understand and remain the concepts so much better than just reading what is written down on the board! Thank you, Emma
Hi Emma. I am Domingos from Brazil. I know you won't read this comment because this great class is from 2014. The best class I've watched in my life. I have watched it several times. You use realia ,sth like this, real life situations. You are the best teacher ever. I 'll keep watching all your classes.
dear Emma, you are my favorite teacher but I must say that a phrasal verb is not a verb plus a preposition but a verb plus a particle. The particle could be a preposition or an adverb :) Thank you very much for your extremely interesting lessons. Your beauty adds to your lessons a special atmosphere :) Take care :)
it's not fair a so high quality teacher get just 15 thousand "thumbs up" although she got so high amount of visualisation. Folks, do not forget to hit the "thumbs up". People don't know how much it helps.
Hello Emma, I'm barely learning english, six months ago and I feel emotion because I almost can understand everything you say. I'm really grateful to you, god bless you.
Phrasal verbs are numerous and it's so difficult to retain all of them by just memorizing them into our mind .I think the most appropriate method in keeping phrasal verbs is by practicing examples ; I mean we ought to put a phrasal verb in a sentence from our own choice . That's my favourite technique that I find so efficient and meaningful .I have a list of all English phrasal verbs with the meanings and the examples but unfortunately , the table pattern hasn't led to wanted goals because in that event , I become completely dependent on the pattern .
Very good video. I showed it to my Thai students (age 14-16) who speak a little English. The pace of this video was perfect for them to follow. Your presentation was straight forward making it easy for them to understand. People do not realize by acting funny it does not help children learn. When you show with demonstrations it really helped the students get it. This is one of the best English videos I have used in class. I will show more of your videos to my students. Thank you for sharing your talents.
Emma. With regards to kick off, we also use this phrasal verbs during meeting conversation. An example, Let's kick off the meeting. Which means either to start or intiate. Plz clarify my doubt.
Would you mind the next time to take a picture of the white board ( with or without the teachers on EngVid ) that would make them easy to remember when we want to study them again without open the video times and times over. Thnx
***** Lol, i'm not native speaker so mistakes can be happen !! now you try writing a Chinese's sentence and every thing will be as clear as July's sun :)

@@mysarababekir569 : You are welcome. Thanks
How about for motorcycle sir? Is it ride on or ride in? Because I often use "on" for motorcycles. Im not sure if im right.
@@benzfx4903 : Consider motorcycle a beast of burden i.e horse etc. so you will ride on the motorcycle.
