Thank you for that review mate, excellent. My 2018 Luxie is out of warranty now so Ive been doing some upgrades. I inquired about a dyne/chip upgrade with Ultimate Diesel up here in sunny QLD and by the time you get your 1)new Clutch 2) new exhaust 3)dyno tune 4)upgrade intercooler your looking at almost 10k. So off I went to my local mechanic and got the iDrive per you review ....wow what a difference .....not sure about investing that 10k now. My other car is a FG XR8 ...oh how do I love that power ha ha Keep up the great reviews, your doing a great job
Cheers Paul. Thanks for taking the time out to comment. Glad the video helped and looks like it saved you a bit of coin. If only a V8 was available in the Hilux 🤤.
Were/are you using the uni chip in conjunction with the throttle controller? Or is it one or the other. Is this what other commenters mean by 'standalone'?
Thanks Toby. I didn’t really notice the difference. I have heard it is supposed to give you slightly better fuel economy but I probably give it a bit more now as well 😂
Wow, I got a uni chip and was blown away with my result. Huge torque, great power. I tow a 2.5 T trailer everyday and love it. P.s get rid of the dpf!!!! Big difference in torque
Was interested until I research and all those small additional stuff adds up ..Best just go standalone. To call this universal and to charge differently for software and access to certain resources is just a big turn off
Best review on UA-cam thanks for sharing👍👍
I appreciate that!
Top man.. very informative! Good luck
Thanks Appreciate it

Thanks for the honest review I am currently looking at upgrading the ecu to unichip
Hi Tome. No problem. Hope it has helped.
Great review mate looking at a dyno and exhaust $1600 might look at the EVC now would I need a hard clutch still?
Cheers David, if your going to get Unichip then yes I would get a heavy duty clutch. With the factory clutch I found it’s just kept slipping.

In conjunction with the controller
Good honesty in your review. How do you think fuel economy was effected after the unichip and / or throttle controller? Cheers
Thanks Toby. I didn’t really notice the difference. I have heard it is supposed to give you slightly better fuel economy but I probably give it a bit more now as well 😂
Can i install the evc idrive together whith the unichip
Yes that it what I did

Thanks for commenting Kevin. Not surprised the DPF would be holding it back as well. Torque is what you feel the most.
Plug and play?... what was the cost?
Maybe get the V6 Hilux in 2023. Hopefully if Toyota send it.
Yeah that would be nice. Let’s hope 🤞🏼
My research conclusion was best to go standalone than go through this much trouble
Thats the problem with plug and play. Every toyota hilux is different from each other. Try remap/reflash
Thanks Florante. Yes and also depends on what accessories/wheels have been added.

Remove dpf haha
😂😂😂 I have heard even with the DPF removed it’s still quite. 🤔
