Hey Nick! I always enjoy your weekly releases. I'm doing a survey from the greats! I'm so tempted to start a vinyl collecting channel. But don't have the money and space for buying many records. Any suggestions or advice for me? I'm worried I'd run out of content if I'm not buying constantly.
I got the 2020 reissue of Slaughter Stick it to ya on red vinyl released by Friday music. I had the original back in 1990 but sold it back like 20 years ago. I wish these companies would reissue more stuff from the early 90s that never had a vinyl release in the states.
I agree with you, something about colored jazz vinyl releases that commercialize them a little bit, or maybe not necessarily paid the homage to the original pressings by coloring them up...too far maybe to say makes them less appealing. Might be some out there, but I am not aware of any colored vinyl blue notes
There has been a limited run of Blue Note releases that they've put out over the last year on blue vinyl, but even those just don't look right to me. 😂
Back in 1977 I stumbled upon Foreign Affairs by Tom Waits and have loved him ever since. Fortunate to see him play live that same year. This was when I drank to excess, so his music of depression and despair spoke to me. This new release/reissue looks intriguing. Halloween is a scary band. I think you make a good point about not caring for a jazz record being released on yellow vinyl. Quite frankly, I kind of feel colored vinyl is a silly gimmick, designed primarily for little girls so they can waste their parents' money buying the 12 variants of every Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande album. Just my cynical opinion.

I don’t know who thelonius monk is, but the yellow vinyl doesn’t make sense to me, either.
