The first year, it was a bit like "Yeah, we'll whack one, maybe two!" This series shows the effort, and the reality that the elk are not always so eager to come in and dance. Great set! Great shooting., editing, and story well told!

Pure joy watching Eric's video of Johnny. Brought tears to my eyes when I saw Johnny's dog. A little over a month ago we lost our 16 year old griffon Tes, who was the best dog we've ever had and not sure I could replace her. But after seeing I believe Johnny called the dog Rock, it's given me the desire to start looking for another Griffon, thanks! Johnny and Eric were really interesting and they both seem like good, grounded, solid dudes. Definitely would like to see those two guys again in the future. Great episode!

I never seen an elk cross a talus field. I thought there maybe a possible cattle guard effect but this video proves it’s not a problem for them to negotiate it. Fantastic fronts on your bull.

Well guys, it came to an awesome end. I’ve been needing to thank you for the education you provide to all of us who get to sit here vicariously living out our elk season through your videos clear through December. I am guilty for criticizing this season early on for the lack of elk footage, but that is a testament to two amazing things...1. How impressive it is that you and your hunting style has afforded you that many close encounters and footage in years past (LOF1,2)...2. How incredibly difficult it is to close the gap on these awesome animals. I owe my own style in the woods to your tactics. Thank you guys for freely sharing your passion and letting us in on the enjoyment of it! Cheers fellas!
After bear practice I was praying for you guys! I think spray would be a better option.
Cody and snowboard guy, nice shootin tex. Better than me with a handgun. I don't see elk crossing rock slides very often. Proved me wrong that they avoid them. Glad to see snowboard guy be part of connecting on one.

I want to say that I really enjoyed meeting Johnny and thought he was a really cool guy. I love the lifestyle he, his wife and kiddos have. I also enjoyed seeing Eric out on his first hunt with you guys and his buddy.
The highlight, for me, although it would have been great if you were there, Kody, is that Johnny and Eric got out on a final hunt and got that bull. It's like you always say, it's about the people you meet along the way that make the hunting so memorable. I foresee Johnny and Eric having a long friendship and I think there is another elk hunt in their future. I'm going to put money on the fact that Eric takes up (took up since this was 3 years ago) archery!
Happy belated birthday Trent!.. The 17th is my son's birthday. He just turned 11. Shot his first elk (a cow) in August, his first buck in October. Awesome eats.
Holding the gun like 11:15 is a recipe for slide bites and wayward shots. Get that thumb right along the other pointing forward.
Glad you got everything on such a hard 2020 year 👍 excited to see the deer series. I was thinking the exact thing seeing all those mule deer while you were driving around is that if you were mule deer hunting you would have a loaded freezer, cant wait!!🤘
Didn’t need the Griffon to find that bull, but excited to see the dog going along on the hunt. Love seeing the versatile gun dogs, I had Setters and Goldens when I could hunt, but wished I would have had more dogs in my lifetime. Would have loved a wire hair breed, I think German wire hair pointer.
I like horses and hunting , great to see both on the same video ! Among the hoses I have, one is a mustang from Nevada ,
and two are mustangs from Oregon .
Loved all the episodes, this is how it should be done. Showing the ups and downs, that way we get to see what it's really like. Not just a show of high dollar hunting places that most of us will never be able to afford. And on a sad note,maybe y'all should just run when someone yells bear. Thanks guys for taking all of us along with all of you.

Another great year of elk videos. I wasnt able to do any western hints this year and really needed these videos. Kody kicked butt this year for sure. Nice of Trent to take a year off and help others.

I love this video, especially the camp shenanigans, practice shooting, head shaving, beer sacrificing, etc. Then you go and finish it off with one of the coolest kill scenes with a dandy bull. Wow! I have loved the LOF series, great content and super personal which makes us feel like we are there with you, except for the smells. LOL
Glad you guys just got to get out with this 2020 junk. I had a perfect storm this year. Decided it would be the first year I try bow hunting/ELK, then Covid hits and the hospital cut hrs so I was forced to burn my vacation. Then my wife gets an internship with ODFW during archery season so I was on kiddo duty. I did get to draw back my bow on Spring bear, but no ethical shot. I am living vicariously through you guys keep it up lol
This episode was AWESOME. We got some great info from Eric asking questions. Plus this is my favorite channel by far. Your doing what I dream to do all the way from the hunting, the giveaways, the education and overall being some real genuine guys. Keep doing what your doing. God bless and merry Christmas.

Next year instead of the luck changer mohawk it might be a beard! Ive been rocking some variation of a mohawk since the pandemic started and my luck has been decent. Bear, fall turkey and a late season black tail spike but no elk! Thanks for season #3!!!

1. If there is ever a Bear, Kevin. Gonna. DIE ! ! ! lol 2. Eric has got a serious "Yukon Cornelius" look goin on... love it! :) Love all the new guy questions, it's great information for the viewers that are not yet experienced.
Public/Private boundaries... I shot a great 7x7 in Montana this fall. Bull reacted to something as I drew and I rushed the shot... hitting him too far back. He turned an ran back onto private. Watched him for about 2 hours until dark when he walked out of sight. Called FWP to facilitate access... they connected me to a ranch manager of the property. Long story short... they dicked around with me all day and the Landowner denied my access. FWP and the manager did investigate to determine that I was on the right side of the fence when the shot went down, but still a no go from the Landowner. They (warden & manager) looked for the bull.
I’m disgusted with myself for making a bad shot, & horrified that I killed a bull that I was not allowed to put in my full effort towards recovery.
I try to avoid all private borders, but this bull just materialized on a quick scouting trip. Lesson learned and I will do my best to avoid that area at all costs in the future. Getting a bull there is not worth the heartache and frustration of an incident like this.
