  • BERSERK FOREVER
Dedicated to the one and only: Kentaro Miura (1966-2021)
Rest In Peace. Thank you for the most inspiring story I had in my life. It was there when no one else was.
This video is featuring the english DUB. Get over it. I don't give a flying F... if you are a purist, who's only into SUB. Don't get me wrong, I love the japanese versions as well, but I know a gut dub, when I hear one. And Berserk had a great dub. If you don't like it, go elsewhere or create your own video. Simple. No place for negativity here.
Berserk has been a pivotal part of both, my youth and my adulthood.
This story was like a refuge, I could always dwell in, whenever I needed it.
Through accidents, injuries, hardships, struggles. This story was always there for me, as something like a mental guideline. Kept me stable & made my overcome the greatest odds. So even though, this story may have ended now, it'll continue to live on. And I am sure, there are a lot of people out there who have been inspired by the works of Miura. It may have been a fictional story, but I found great truth in it. When I heard of Miura's passing, I immediately started working on this tribute and created it within a total time of 20 hours. It just had to be done.
If anything... I hope this video will be a safe haven for you, when you need it. Come back for as often as you like (or for as long as UA-cam allows this video to exist on their servers).
    Struggle. Endure. Contend.
For that alone is the sword of one who defies death.

Needless to say this video contains major spoilers.
    That being said...
I would've never thought how many of my brothers in iron are familiar with Berserk.
This video is for you strugglers.
Somehow, it's beautiful that we might never witness the end of the story in the way it was intended.
    That's life, I guess.
I just can say that Miura's 'Berserk' - even though, it's a fictional story -
has played a pivotal role in my life and will continue to do so.
It was there, when no one else was. And it taught me to never give up... ever.
Stay the course, everybody. We got this.
(P.S. I got about twenty copyright claims on this video, so I hope this will saty online. I mean... this is a non-monetized channel, there would be no reason to delete this. Let's hope for the best.

Berserk was never meant to have a definite ending. Just as Samurai Jack. The mystery of not ending kept the story alive. When and ending was given to Samurai Jack, it lost its edge.

He went from having everything and being so close to his dream that he could taste it to losing literally everything. He had a moment of weakness when given the opportunity to get everything back.
I think most people wouldn't be strong enough to reject the opportunity to become a god when placed in his situation.

“They are my soldiers… they are not necessarily my friends.”
Griffin decided after the death of that young boy that he would do anything to accomplish his dream, because if he didn’t it would mean everyone that had died up to that point would have died for nothing.
He emotionally distanced himself from everyone to keep his own sanity. He saw them as valuable tools instead of friends. Pawns to be sacrificed.
The only person Griffith didn’t feel that way about was guts. Who he undoubtedly (unjustifiably) felt betrayed by.

A couple of years ago I had a back injury doing deadlifts in the gym, that same day on my way to work I had a motorcycle accident.
I remember buying several volumes of the manga weeks before but never had the time to read them. my injuries were a damaged shoulder and chest.
The pain was strong and it was hard for me to sleep so I decided to read the volumes. Guts inspired me, gave me the strength to never give up.
Two months later I was back in the gym, still in some pain but more motivated than ever before.

Totally didn't cry a little to this. Best show ever. Best manga ever. I really hope that someday we might see a proper ending. I remember my first time ever seeing berserk. It was back when the movies first came to Netflix. I was at a friend's and we were trying to find something to watch. We watched all 3 movies. I started researching more and found the original anime and I found the manga. To this day there is nothing that compares to this amazing story. Now a few years later I rewatched everything. I read the manga all over again and found out there was more. I was so happy about it. And somehow I went from no connection to it at all but still loving the story and the characters. To connecting to it on every level, it's become the inspiration that's led me to continue as a struggler. This godly story has changed me as a person in many ways. And I'm glad to see it had affected many others as well

I think there may be a decent chance that Berserk will continue on, hear me out. Berserk is its publishers number 1 best selling product by a huge margin, along with all of the emotional investment and Miura’s assistants there might just be enough overall support to see the story continue on in some way - the deciding factor being if they think they can honour what makes Berserk... well Berserk. It’s easier to accept that it’s just done for good and in a huge way it definitely is, as Miura’s era ends and his legacy lives on, but who knows what the future could hold. For better or worse to the differing opinions of many fans I’m sure there will be something to come. Maybe at least we’ll get great adaptation that Miura would be proud of.
On a side note I hope that he is allowed to be mourned properly amongst all these pandemic restrictions, I’m not sure what it’s like in Japan but where I am funerals are still being regulated.

Obviously what Griffith did was unforgivable and Guts deserves his revenge... but my take on BERSERK (and a lot of people have disagreed with me on this) is that Guts really betrayed Griffith first, without realizing it. Both Griffith and Guts are the two greatest men of their period, and because they are so stoic, so proud, so independent, so visionary, and so sovereign, they overlooked and misunderstood the love they developed for each other. They were both too hardened as men to understand something as subtle as true friendship.
Griffith never consciously realized that he truly loved Guts and acknowledged him as his only one true equal, because he was always so one-dimensional about fulfilling his ambitions and discovering if he truly was as great as he felt he was. Meanwhile, Guts, who only ever knew trauma, disappointment, the cold mercenary life, tragedy, betrayal, and loneliness, he did not recognize that he was the only person that Griffith ever admired.
And because of this, Guts walked out on Griffith without speaking to him directly, thinking that Griffith wouldn't even care beyond Griffith's superficial feelings of ownership of Guts as a mercenary. This to me is the real tragedy of BERSERK, and I don't think fans often realize that Griffith felt betrayed and humiliated by Guts first, and that he had good reason to feel that way.
And as such, in my opinion, the tragedy of BERSERK is that if Guts and Griffith had only opened up to and confided in each other, they could have ruled the world together and achieved anything they could have possibly ever wanted. BERSERK is such a profound story for me (in part) because in reality, tragedy and horror often really are the consequence of such petty misunderstandings.

My dude this is simply awesome, great work you did here, you don't imagine the chills this gave me, at the same time got me sad and served as pure motivation. Berserk is truly something out of this world, I think I never sympathized with a fictional story and characters as I did with Berserk, the feeling of struggling on while the world around you is falling apart moved me like never before!
Thank you mister Miura, for bringing us this masterpiece, hope you are well and at peace wherever you are!

A really amazing video and a nice tribute to Miura and his work. In a sense, the fact that Berserk will always remain unfinished is a tribute in itself to Miura as it captures, imho, the essence of Berserk that is the struggle never ends, it is always a wip.
It is just as in the work of Camus, for Guts just as it is for Sisyphe, there is nothing else than the struggle itself and one must keep on struggling for the sole sake of the struggle. And the real ordeal is to find joy on the struggle itself and to believe that ultimately Guts, and I hope Miura, is happy.
Sorry for the little rant. Thanks for your video especially this one. Best and friendly regards.
