I don't know why, but Maggie gave me Karen Carpenter flashbacks in this video. Maybe it's the nice voice or the sweater. Or maybe I'm imagining that Maggie will hold a similar position in the music world as she did. Not in terms of style or anything, but the fact that they both can deliver live. Or something. I don't know.
I listen to this to comfort me thru the loss of my 14 year old dog 2 weeks ago. I listened to this while rocking her the morning she passed. It sums up our love perfectly.
This woman blows my mind even after 5 years. One of my favorite songs from her and it means a lot right now because my husband and I are going through some health challenges. We are also dog people. And we will be all right. So fresh and so talented the voice of an angel. Thank you Maggie. Thomas and Joseph.

Hi kids, the video doesn't take up the entire screen because this is what we call a 4:3 aspect ratio, something all TV's used to be constrained too and it helps add to the seventies/eighties theme she is pushing. Such a good song.
I love the nostalgia this video evokes. Suits the song perfectly. The old, rustic weekend camp hall building where everyone would eat lunch together, the canoe paddles on the dock on a cool, hazy fall morning, playing card games to pass the slow time. Love it. Brings me back to my early high school and middle days, the beautiful, blue lake and mountains in the backdrop, the autumn leaves damp and faded upon the dirt road, the adorable dogs paddling through the water. Wish I could go back sometimes, but am happier now than I’ve ever been so it’s purely sentimental.
I know this song is about leaving college but it also reminds of when you love someone who might have a illness or cancer and her saying ‘it will be alright in the afterlife’ 😢
First time i heard this song was a stripped down version on her tiny desk performance, it was so good it has always stuck in my mind. Maggie your one hell of a talent!

I love how personal her music feels, and her yearning voice, the awkward choreography, and the nature themes... but what really gets me here is her production game, the carefully layered build up to the final verse. The mix starting at 3:38... so rich and glorious.
How come I can smell the trees, feel the humidity and hear the crunch of leaves under my feet when I watch this…there’s something so ethereal pulling me back….like a familiar memory I forgot once upon a time

Coming from Maggie's most recent email, and I can't believe I didn't know until now that this was filmed at Wohelo! My dad grew up going to Timanous every summer :)
Her music is like a breath of fresh air. I love the kinda music that you feel good about life and those drives where it's beautiful, sunny and everything feels okay in the world and you just stick your hands out the window and let the wind blow your hair and you listen to music , this is the kinda music you listen to while doing that.
Watched this with my dog 2 years ago and watching it alone now... while crying, sobbing, feeling alone and maybe suicidal idk and I really hate depression but she was the only living being here that I really loved. But I promised to raise her puppies. She passed away giving birth of 3 out of 9 puppies.
Maggie, this song is beautiful. The lyrics got to my heart. It makes me think of my best friend who passed away suddenly at a young age. I often wonder about the time in the afterlife when we’ll be together again. You’re a special soul, Maggie.
This is one of my all time favorite songs, its so spiritually uplifting and calming at the same time. Listening to it feels like being wrapped in a warm blanket, and knowing everyting is going to be okay
Maybe I’ve commented this before but does anyone else picture this to be your dogs anthem to you?? I’m the one who loves you, we will be alright, in the after life… all dogs go to heaven 😢❤
You know, it's watching a video like this that makes me remind myself how much I don't care about dancers or fashion or other bullsh@t. This is a great song. That's all I need.

I wish I could explain the way this song makes me feel. Whenever I get anxious or become overwhelmed by depression, I'll have this song on repeat. Thank you for your music. Wowowow I'm never going to get tired of this song. I'm 19 now but I'll be blasting this song until I'm laying on my death bed.
I saw her last night in Portland (ME). She seems very genuine, humble, and talented. Her, and her outstanding backup trio did a brief but solid set. I'm rather old and jaded, but I have to say she is one of the most interesting new performers I have heard in years. I hope she has lots more in the tank. Thanks, Maggie. I just found out about Maggie yesterday. There is a real warmth to her music. Her voice is so beautiful. She has a levity to her writing but also oscillates between this real light, float-like quality to a more grounded, folk chorus. I like the way she juxtapositions the two, they work real well together.
3 months ago my dog wasn't feeling so well, he had liver problems and I used to sing this song to him saying "we will be alright", 1 month later he recovered and is feeling better now 💜

Singing, ooh

Blue hell hope you’re doing better ❤️ sorry to hear about your dog
Maggie, this song is beautiful. The lyrics got to my heart. It makes me think of my best friend who passed away suddenly at a young age. I often wonder about the time in the afterlife when we’ll be together again. You’re a special soul, Maggie.
Well, I don’t know where I was, dreaming? Maybe, but I only just found this masterpiece now, literally now! And I’m wwwwwoooooooooowwwww 🤯😍
This is one of my all time favorite songs, its so spiritually uplifting and calming at the same time. Listening to it feels like being wrapped in a warm blanket, and knowing everyting is going to be okay

she's FREAKING amazing
Maggie Rogers was a pleasant discovery.
I'm picking up some Wes Anderson vibes in the cinematography, and I'm loving it. Also this track is stellar!
i keep coming back to this video and this song
This is brilliant! She is so unique, her music is like a drug
I heard Maggie's music a few years ago, and just rediscovered her again. I have tears from the emotional singing and dancing 💖 love you Maggie❤
You know, it's watching a video like this that makes me remind myself how much I don't care about dancers or fashion or other bullsh@t. This is a great song. That's all I need.
I wished she sang this song for me one day, she did but it wasn't for me, well life goes on and here I am sitting in my car listening to this after coming from her wedding
I wish you all the success in the world.
Such a funky Carol King vibe. It's great.
SAME
I saw her last night in Portland (ME). She seems very genuine, humble, and talented. Her, and her outstanding backup trio did a brief but solid set. I'm rather old and jaded, but I have to say she is one of the most interesting new performers I have heard in years. I hope she has lots more in the tank. Thanks, Maggie. It's nice to find inspiration in someone once in a while. It's so rare these days...
i need a full LP album of her she is going to smash the music industry
Looking back at this from the hindsight of 2024, prescient!
Such an achingly beautiful song.
I'm so glad I've found you so early on. I can't wait to hear your music everywhere. You're a beautiful soul inside and out.
so now its been 7 years which are perfect dog years and i started to hit this phase of turnings and changes in life. just cried listening to it, a good cry anyways. Thanks Maggie❤
This talent needs more recognition!
So AWESOME that Pharrell discovered this rare and pure soul! Yas!!! Love it!!! And appreciative of Maggie Roger’s talents!
I just found out about Maggie yesterday. There is a real warmth to her music. Her voice is so beautiful. She has a levity to her writing but also oscillates between this real light, float-like quality to a more grounded, folk chorus. I like the way she juxtapositions the two, they work real well together.
3 months ago my dog wasn't feeling so well, he had liver problems and I used to sing this song to him saying "we will be alright",
1 month later he recovered and is feeling better now 💜
That is wonderful news!
judging by Alaska and dog years her album will be amazing! can't wait for it!
