I heard it was a translation error. In the JP dub, when Arvil requested Cossette to introduce herself, Cossette said “Hi”, speaking in English momentarily. When it came to translating for localisation, “Hi” was mistakenly treated as the Japanese Romani for “Yes”, leading to the error. Feel free to correct me
