I get more 3 Stars then anything else with Qc Lalo at Th 14 and I am one of the best Attackers in my Clan. I 3 Stared a fresh Th 16 player while my Th 16 Dragon Spamer Clanmate only got 2 Stars there

it is more like an easy 2 star troop without cc, but when you are pushing trophies and the more and more you get higher TH as opponents e drags become hardly a one star troop unless you use battle blimp, e drags main problem is not their speed but their attack charging time. The higher you go the th e drags get more countered easily with newer defences compared to other troops.
I think the greater point is that people learned to build bases with 2-tile-wide gaps, not the introduction of another troop years later...

They are they just got hard countered by better base building. Also the defenses that are introduced at later townhalls basically nerfed them
