Beth should look into functional patterns! I had the same issue with recurring injuries to my ankles after a early career in gymnastics. Functional Patters will help strengthen muscles that are weak, improve posture and take away strain caused by over reliance on commonly used muscle groups. It’s really made a difference in my over all pain levels and recovery times. I don’t want to sound like I am pitching an MLM but seriously Functional Patterns will be so helpful!
I had that heel pain too. What worked is realizing that the inner thigh muscles get tight after every run and pull your muscles all the way to the heel. So what worked was focused stretching (yoga -swan etc) that focusses on stretching the muscles from the lower back to the feet. Takes about two weeks to heel with this method.
