  • In the sixth part of this build series, we're going to install the body mounting clip system and show off the fully assembled and painted body. This also marks the completion of the kit in stock form. Unfortunately, I didn't actually go over the actual assembly of the body. To be honest, the body was very involved, with a lot of really small screws. It would make for a very frustrating experience trying to put that together and film at the same time. I'd say the body was the hardest part of the whole build actually.

Nice build, and paint job. Always enjoy your RC content. Did I hear correctly that you used "Krylon Fusion" spray paint for this model? If you did, congrats! Those spray paints in my opinion are the best for hard plastics. I know, I've used them on my redcat gen 8 stock beadlocks and if cured properly the paint bonds really well, almost as if it's actually the original color of the material. In this case like your boom racing model you have there. Excellent!!

That is correct! I used the same paint for my RCRun Run80 LC80, RC4WD D90, and my Traxxas TRX4M Defender as well!

I watched your entire playlist on the RC4WD D90. Really good! Organized and thorough. I'm interested.
I own the Galande ii - D90. Bought it last summer but It's mostly still in the box. I took the axles out and apart to install an XVD in the front and drop in a Helical Gear Set for both. While I had them in pieces, I sandblasted and powder coated the pumpkin covers, transmission, and the transfer case Red. I would like to know your opinion on the quality and capability of each rig, once you've had some time with both. Keep up the good work. Let me know which you'd rate higher, if any, and why.
Thanks for the content as well as your time brother.

Hey Thanks! My honest assessment. I like the RC4WD stuff, but you kind of like it and work with/around what you got. You can have fun with them and tune them, but the fit and finish is not going to be something like a product from Vanquish. The Boom Racing stuff on the other hand, performs really well, and has really good fit and finish on their parts as well. It feels and looks of a much higher grade quality as far as the parts go. Now, I'm not bashing the RC4WD stuff by any means. I still like their stuff, but I'm just objectively calling it as it is. You can objectively see that the parts and machining on the BRX02 are of a higher quality.

Right on. I have a couple RC4WD rigs as well as Vanquish. I agree VP is hard to beat on a quality level, and I DO love the rigs from RC4WD. There's just something about the way they look when driving slowly over obstacles. But then I saw this and instantly wanted it, but I just bought all of the Kyosho re-re's before Xmas. Dropped quite a bit to round all of those up. So, I was just curious if the new BR kit was worth the entry price. I appreciate your thoughtful response. Thank you.
