- Here's some more to get Tide fans through another month of no college football: the game that had a lot of people saying(including Kirk Herbstreit) that Alabama was back.

This was my first ever college football game and this was when I was 9. I lived in Atlanta and my parents were Bama grads and I had no idea what to expect from the Georgia Dome or college football. I absolutely loved it, and have supported Bama ever since! This is one of my favorite games of all time. Roll Tide y'all!
This marked the beginning of the dynasty, as well as the bowl win over Colorado. You realize since 2008 week 1 when Alabama was 24th they havent been out of the top 20 since in any poll ever?? The lowest theyve ever dropped after is to 18th in the second to last coaches poll in 2010, that is one incredible run if you ask me, Roll Tide!
Utah will still always beat Bama's ass all over Atlanta XD

Also, they have been #1 every single year at some point beginning in 2008. '09, '10, '11, '12, '13, '14, '15. Absolutely UNHEARD OF. Oh yeah, and will probably begin '16 at #1 or #2.

I was hiking in the mountains on the east coast of South Korea at the time of this game. I got to a small bar in the 3rd quarter that was kind enough to put on a radio broadcast of this game from Europe. I had every Korean in their yelling "Roll Tide". Of course, I was buying them Soju left and right. We're world-wide, baby!
So many future NFL players including a Heisman winner... CJ Spiller, Bowers, Sapp, Barron, Ingram, Julio Jones, McClain, Mt Cody, Hightower, Andre Smith, Upshaw, Barrett Jones , etc etc wow! Thx for the upload. Roll Tide! This was officially the beginning.
Zeta Phi Mt Cody was not on this team he was still in Junior College

***** I watch them every single saturday they're on. I have never, NEVER heard either of them say ANYTHING disrespectful of Alabama. Their jobs include equal positive responses to both team's better plays, so when they gush about the other team, this isn't "disrespecting Alabama". Seems to be a huge, HUGE problem with a lot of our fans. They want 24-hour a day constant sunshine "Bama is SOOOOO GREAT!!" pumped up their asses. Ridiculous.

Some of it comes from referring to times when Alabama was defeated almost to annoy the fans watching. There was like twelve mentions of the kick six in the TENNESEE game last year, though that might've been another game.

2010-11 we were 16 against Michigan State.but we destroyed them in the bowl game.one of my favorite games because we were a little disrespected that year and finished strong

I remember because we lost 2 games and I heard Michigan State felt like they were disrespected by playing us and I was thinking,really??? You Never count out The Tide!!!We take trophies home,even bowlgames if that's all we can get,but we will take it!!!

Gawd I miss those Jim McElwain offenses. Ball control, easy 8 yd passes. Effecient, effective. Won a lot of titles. Why Nick didn't tell Sarkisian to hit the road and bring Jim back is beyond me.
Because that type of offense doesnt work in football today, it's all about the Up tempo RPO offense now
Watch the 2016 SEC championship.. that's why Jim's offense doesnt work and hes longer at FL.. game has evolved since then

The ESPN graphics back then are a lot better than what they have now as well as the college football music.
Gosh I miss Bama playing this style. Went to the RPO and havent won anything. This was such a fun game. Defense with pressure, all receivers covered, O line blowing holes wide open. Intensity. Now we just try to outscore people. NOT BAMA FOOTBALL>

I would argue that it was the start of two empires. Tommy Bowden had made a living out of losing four out of five early games each year, only to win out against the lesser ACC schools on the schedule, and the AD kept thinking "well, maybe he'll do better next year." This year, partially because of this game, they bounced Bowden mid-season before he got to the soft end stretch and replaced him with Dabo -- and the rest is history.

It was this game that caused Clemson to become the superpower they are now. Thank you Alabama. You became major after this game, and planted seeds for Clemson with the beginning of the end for Tommy Bowden.

Football is a game of matchups, not conferences, not teams, and certainly not 'over rated and underrated' teams.
It seems like that fact is somehow lost on most people.
To be fair, we are all fans of a sport that mainly consists of large grown men beating the hell out of each other for hours at a time.

The whole "conference network" thing is painfully biased. I don't agree with its premise but I do appreciate that they are able to cover more Alabama events that I might not get to watch otherwise.
The start of the Nick Saban dynasty. Many say the dynasty began the next season when Alabama beat Florida in the SEC Championship game but we established the dominance in our division the SEC West in 2008, and in the conference period in 2009.
The birth of the greatest dynasty in college football history. Bama was supposed to get SMOKED. I want to say it was the Packer guy who said Bama will hang in it until halftime but Clemson will dominate and win going away. Even though Bama was back at full 85 schollies after being given basically the death penalty, they were mostly freshmen and sophomores. What Saban did with this team was magic. They were a 8 win team at best. We knew 2009 was going to special. After being decimated by probation Bama was starving for this.

I remember this game very well. I was in the 6th grade and I was sooooo pumped for this game, thinking Clemson was going to have a stellar year until 5 minutes into the game. But here we are in 2015 and its crazy how much things aren't the same, and how long ago this was. Really would like to see a rematch in the playoffs with the Tide. GO TIGERS

I remember my uncle(a large booster for clemson) told me a story about after the first few plays he turned to his wife and said "we're about to get our ass kicked". Largely in part to this "fit" defensive line Tommy bowden tried to create which ultimately led to his fall and dabos rise. I'm hoping for a different result and feel we can win the title. But good luck to Alabama. GO TIGERS!!!

Mark West Tommy Bowden built a faster more fit defensive line that he thought would be revolutionary but it wasn't able to match the size and strength of a big offensive line.

I was at that game. Worst $175.00 I ever spent. My how things have changed for the Tigers since that day. Beat ‘Bama 2 outta the last 3 times we’ve played them for all the marbles.

Unlikely. Clemson is always prone to "pulling a Clemson," but this program is different that it was in 2008. The Georgia game looks to be an offensive shoot-out.

Congrats, but not the same outcome as 2008. Clemson more than held their own at the lines, I'd say Clemson won in the trenches. But Alabama's special teams and attention to detail was better and the difference.
