    Generally riding as fast and hard as possible in natural terrain. Big, long, high speed turns. Powder, chunder, groomers, and natural airs. If a board is really surfy, I can be persuaded to slow down and spend some time slashing around. Not spending much time in the park.

      We could add edges and have tested it in the past but we choose not to. There's a big FAQ on our website as to why not. www.drift-products.com/pages/frequently-asked-questions

    What are Dave's specs? It looks like Surfer is working pretty well for his weight/height. Is he on the 162? Great vid by the way

      He's quite a bit smaller than me and on a 154. He's 6'1" and 150 lbs, size 10 foot. And he feels like the 154 is a bit small in proper pow but fine most of the time.

    awesome vid! what was ur setup for those conditions?

      I was using the Cascades, with crampons some of the time. Dave used the wide carbon boards with the Burton strep on split. No crampon. Then I rode the Signal Tailgunner and Dave was on the Bataleon surfer.

      @@Drift-Products awesome! I am a big guy (6'4 250lb size 12) and I'm torn between the cascades and carbons...I live in WA now but am moving back to the Midwest. I will use them for trips when I come back west and to train when we get snow.

      @@chrishusky3923 I'd do the wide ones unless you plan to only go out when there's a skin track and firmer conditions. The wides will do better in soft snow and if you find you need better edge hold you can grab the crampons.

    Great day out in the mountains! How did Dave get his split step ons attached to his surfer???

    • @Drift-Products
      @Drift-Products  5 місяців тому

      Thanks! He’s a big fan. It’s heavier on the feet than our normal setup, but on this kind of terrain the extra edge hold is pretty sweet. I’ve been testing it soon and will do a review soon.

      @sakazza used spark R and D solid board puck system.

      @@Drift-Products I'm using split step ons on my rovers and love it! It looked like Dave moved his split step ons over to his Surfer, did he machine some kind of custom puck that makes that possible??? I had to grind down all the burton screws to get them to fit the rovers,but the ease of stepping out and just stepping on to my surfer with regular step ons is absolutely fabulous, minimal fiddling around. It would be great use the split step on for the up and on the solid board going down

    • @Drift-Products

      Spark R&D makes a puck for solid boards. We haven’t been too fond of split bindings on our drift boards in the past, but the step on system is so convenient it’s pretty sweet.

      @@Drift-Products Thank you for the response! You guys Rock! This is a great channel with great content! Keep up the fabulous work! My wife and I love the approach skis with split step ons and just ordered another setup. Everyone in my family has a Bataleon Surfer, I can't get enough time on this board, I wonder what next generation Surfer will be like?
