This is a DIFFERENT Fireside Bowl show! This was on the Piebald tour and was filmed for their manager Brian at the time. He called me and asked him to film it as they were his "new band". , I was their videographer in the early early years until mid 2004. This was opening for Piebald and a wild show.
It's kinda common to do that tho when you're at some small venue with a small gap between the crowd and band because they haven't blown up, basically happened to me at a concert on New Years Eve
This is a classic Chicago show. 3 kids getting super into it while the rest of the crowd stands there with their arms crossed for the band they weren’t there to see.
@@waterboyrene1241 I’ve played hundreds of shows across Chicago, it’s definitely par for the course. I have, however, played a show where someone threw a keg into the mosh pit during my old band’s set. Most violent show I’ve ever played in my life
Same for michigan. Dont miss that part one bit. with 2010's metal, it was only dudes. And they either wanted to fight you or fuck you so it wasnt fun either way 😂
This was before MCR exploded in popularity and mostly was around the sweaty socially awkward spaces where moshing Isn't as popular. It's less of disrespect and more of "this band is really good I wanna absorb this" I was one of the dudes sitting down and absorbing when I saw them live.

AFI and MCR, are the reason why 2000's Emo kids looked like 1980's Goth kids, all the influences were already there like The Cure or The Smiths, so by time the mid 2000's were coming we had stuff like AFI and MCR

I feel so blessed to have been around as a fan these days. It is so cool to watch a band blow up over time. My Chem had it. From day 1. They just had it.
I like Frank way better in L.S Dunes!! He has a more mature fuller sound than when they were cringe and edgy twenty something year olds lol. Just my opinion though
This is insane! Bullets never gets enough credit imo. And I kinda chuckled a little bit when they were playing the early version of it’s not a fashion statement Gerard grabbed onto Ray probably not to fall over because he had a lot to drink and ray was going absolutely wild. Does anyone know what amps the guys were using around this time? I’ve seen some photos around this time they were using rectifiers before they went full switch on marshalls. The first record again is so raw and so heavy.
Lol you don’t think this is raw or heavy? It’s not like pantera or children of bodom or anything in terms of heaviness or anything but the first record is actually considered a post hardcore record. The energy from the early show’s especially are crazy. If you even read about this record it specifically says it’s got a much raw sound then three Cheers and has metal influences 😂

I grew up around there..I played at the park right by Fireside.. My boyfriend (now husband) lived down the street from there.. we heard and saw them from the outside thought they were pretty cool then we got to see them at the Congress Theater in 2008..what a difference 5 years make 🥰
I only got to go to a few shows there, but man the Fireside was so rad. I saw Wesley Willis, Screeching Weasel, and the first incarnation of Dillinger Escape Plan there. God bless those bathrooms.
