@@gregkiteos1936 not entirely. DVDs are still sold in some markets. Plus with the way streaming services like Disney+ and HBO Max are screwing up, something tells me we might see a resurgence in physical media. But even if it doesn’t happen, they should still consider restoring all the Tugs episodes for fans to see.
@Joshua W56 I agree, it would be good to have an official DVD release of Tugs but I don't think it would be worth it now, seeing as all the episodes can be watched for free on UA-cam. I also don't think it would appeal to a lot of people now, given that the majority of people who know about the show are fans from when it aired over 30 years ago. It's very niche and I think its only selling point would be that it was made be the creators of 'Thomas'. And there's also the matter of who owns the rights to the show. So, although it would be good to have an official TUGS DVD, there are a lot of obstacles to overcome, which just wouldn't make it worthwhile, unfortunately.
I wonder if you'd talk about Salty's Lighthouse even if some fans may be... salty about it (sorry, it was too easy). It's just a fascinating beast worth studying.
Maybe if David Mitton ever got the chance to make a second series of Tugs. We would have seen them interacting with visible human characters?? What could have been?? 😕😔
Hmm no. That would kinda remove part of the show's identity as it solo focused on the industrial elements of the world. Even the book stories did the same, so I don't see why they'd change that for a new season.
Happy Railway Series Day fellow Tugs fans. This show should definitely be released on DVD.
i know
I think that the days of releasing programmes on DVD are over. It's all about streaming now.
