I tried ywigs braiding hair in the water wave texture for boho braids and I just didn’t have a good experience. It was matted by week 2. By week 5, no matter how much conditioner I put on it, it wouldn’t moisturize the hair. It was just a knotted mess. But I spent money on it so I would sit in the mirror trying to comb and brush for an hour. But I only see good reviews about it. But most don’t tell you how it lasts. I still don’t know if I got a bad batch of hair. But I did braids with their kinky straight texture and haven’t had the same issue and am also on week 5. I think their curly textures probably just don’t last. And all their hair stinks when wet.
I agree!!! My hair was delivered today, and I'm playing with it, and it seems like a bad idea!!!!! I want to return it!!! I can't afford to payb$300 for braids that won't last.

Same! I should’ve just bought crotchet hair and saved $$$. My hair matted so quick and it was hard to maintain. I’ve tried boho braids with crotchet hair and in my opinion the maintenance was much easier. Definitely won’t be doing this style again it’s too much work…or I’ll add way less hair.
I love your hair! I ordered 3 bundles and I’m very disappointed in YWigs. They send very small bundles unfortunately. I think I’ll have to try to find the chestnut color at my local store to blind. I’m still looking forward to this style tho:
Did you order bulk hair or was it like actual bundles. One thing about Ywigs is they actually have customer service. I would reach out to them 🤍
Usually they send influencers the best hair. If an influencer "ghost" buys the hair with their own coin (meaning the company has no idea they're a influencer), then I'd believe the hair is what they say it is. So I understand what you're saying

Do you any tips/hints/hacks for removals? You change styles so quickly whereas I’m so traumatized by my 10+ hr install to do anything besides wash & maintenance for the next month. I dread removing braids almost as much as I dread braiding my hair. Your braids are always awesome - keep doing what you doing Sis!!
lol girl the best thing you can do is find a good show to watch. It takes me like 1-2 hours to take down, I don’t use a comb. lol but all these videos are about 2weeks behind, it just seems like I take them down super quick lol.
separate your take down in sections/per day and start in the back or middle to conceal it.

This was ny natural hair color growing up. My mom always did this combo for my braids. Debating doing something like this or black with highlight for my braids.

I personally didn’t experience matting, but I think it’s because I wash and moisturized the hair like I would if it was a sew-in if that makes sense?

I wouldn’t do a big knot, it will unravel once wet.

What would you recommend for someone that wants to try this but their hair is not as thick or as long as yours? Just adding more hair to the braid? My hair is very fine and while and I want to try this but shorter like more of a bob.
It’ll be EASIER on finer hair. Bc my hair is so thick the braids were harder to hide. But yep just add the human hair in just like you would with synthetic hair.

So this is 100% human hair. But if you want to add synthetic hair I recommend RUWA for beginners. The hair is so soft on the hands and the density is great. I’d get color #4 & #30 and blend them together. 1 of each.

Yes it should, but in case not, you could renew the front row after two or three weeks if you have new growth. 🎉
Perfect answer! It will last as long as you take care of it. Since it’s human hair you have to tend to it like you would if it’s your own hair lol

I’m actually surprised it didn’t last because I’ve had cheaper hair that last me more than a month. Any tips on how to make the hair curl again? The curls dropped even when maintaining them.
When you have more curls than braids then the style is called bora bora braids.
Bora bora braids is just a name given to a particular *method* by a braider. If you look on IG you’ll find the original creator.

You are talking about the hair hanging out babes, you gotta add hair that goes directly to the thickness of the braid as well. I would never tell anyone to do something I don’t do. Don’t forget my natural hair is 16” long 🤍

I was soooo skeptical about color too! Now I kinda wanna try more. And I would get 3 bundles to be safe, bc you’ll definitely use more than 2 even if you don’t use the entire 3rd bundle. If you use braiding hair you can get away with 2
