You should try adding a tub of whole sale supplies plus whipped soap base to it next time and a tea spoon or to of glycerin and a pound of top of sugar and make a whipped sugar scrub. Out of your shreds. I personally just add my scraps to hot water jug. Shake couple times a day when it’s fully dissolved I wash laundry been doing this for years love it.
OMGosh!! Your idea is brilliant.... I had no idea I could use milk to hydrate rebatched soap and not to mention those beautiful gold embeds, super awesome soap, turned out magnificent 👌

Your turquoise color is indeed quite beautiful too. ~ Unfamiliar with your technique and container yet thought possibly once poured, slip the mold into a warm oven to address the soft log. I just made my first batch of cp soap and I saved my shavings! This is a great idea. I have heard about confetti soap. I’ll have to watch that video also!
Thankyou so much for sharing this recipe and ideas, as I'm fairly new to CP soaping I have quite alot of ugly soap and shreds and this would be wonderful to try
Thanks. My idea is to make like a whipped soap from scraps like you did here, add possibly a whipped oil and whip it in, then add salt to make my version of like a whipped emulsifying scrub? I'm new to diy beauty so I have no experience with emulsifyers etc. My only concern is how the soap and oil will react to eachother in this way but I will see.
Hi Ellen! I know its been 2 years sice you made this video, however its hands down one of the best ones I have seen on rebatch! I do have a quick question. Could I not whip as much and just pour into a mold? I have rebatched soap many times but it never turnes out smooth as you know. I was just curious if you could use this same method. Thank you in advance!
@@EllenRuthSoap hi Ellen I love watching your videos 😊 I use my shavings in confetti soap, but you actually did something really interesting 💕 I have a question. If possible, could you tell me how much liquid you used per pound of shavings? Thank you in advance. 🌹
Quick question.......I know you mixed the color with oil but I’ve heard it can be mixed also with water with a little sugar in it. I’m scared it will be too oily if I use oil. And also, shouldn’t I use some type of liquid when it starts to melt the shavings? It just seems easier to start mixing, like it makes It “juicy”.
After I saw this video I tried to recycle my soap and it didn't work 😁 I don't have the cooker you have. How can 8 smelt it without this cooker? Thank you for your advice in advance
@@relaxwithdy-asmr4318 I've seen people use a double boiler, or even put the soap shavings and liquid, in a large zip-lock bag and float it in simmering water to melt it.?. You can usually find used crock-pots at a thrift store for for super cheap.?.
@@EllenRuthSoap thanks! How much liquid per lb of soap scraps should be used? My soap was made last spring /summer. I tried 2 oz of liquid per lb and it wasn't enough at all. The soap never got smooth. This time I want to try goats milk as the liquid.
@@valbakke I've read articles that say you can use up to 5-8 oz per lb of soap, depending on how old and dry it is. I was using 5 oz per lb, and it was too wet for me.?. If it's not melting smooth, you can always add liquid as you go to soften it up...
Hi! Great Soapy Video! Please tell me what the Green Looking Dye was. Is it a food dye? A Paint Colorant Dye? Or even a Dye for Denim like Rit Dye? I seriously guess it doesn't stain your clothes in the wash. Thanks! #Covid19projects #WithMe
Your batch looked better than most rebatches I've seen. I've also made the mistake of adding too much CM to the mix and then have to wait week in order to use the soap.

Great ideas! Thanks for sharing! 🤗
Ellen- I whipped my rebatch soap and put it into a jar and I’ve been using it as shave cream in the shower lol
OMGosh!! Your idea is brilliant.... I had no idea I could use milk to hydrate rebatched soap and not to mention those beautiful gold embeds, super awesome soap, turned out magnificent 👌
🥰 thank you. Next time I'll use less liquid, but it was a fun way to recycle the shreds.
This is really cool to learn! I had wondered if cold process soap could be melted down!
Those confetti soap balls are such a good idea.
They're fun because they're all different 😀

the soap balls add a splash of color, very nice
How incredibly fun to watch! Love that you show the learning curve! So relatable!
Thanks! Just trying to keep it real😉
Everything came out so gorgeous!
Thanks! Next time I'll use less liquid, but it's a learning process😅
It looks great
I'm having issues with my rebatching.. I need help
@@justaddlivingwater me too, it comes out very clumpy and when I take it out of the mold, it is crumbly! So frustrating!
What a super cute idea!
Beautiful crafting.
Thank you so much 😊
I love the color and the top is really pretty. A very nice rebatch if I say so myself. LOL, I haven't said groovy since the 60's..Love it!
Thanks! Hahaha, I guess I'm dating myself🤣 "groovy"
I love them ! I will try this, I use my for bubble bath.
But what a great idea.
Thanks ☺️
Really don't mind the look...its awesome!
Thank you, that's encouraging🥰
Wow! Fun way to reuse scraps and make them good as new! Do we need any preservatives when adding milk to this?
No need for a preservative.
Reminds me of when mom would patch my jeans up when I was young. If a denim color you can call it Jean patches. Lol
Love that 💕
Reminds me of pudding stones that you can find at Lake Michigan. I really liked the video and great tips.
Thank you!😁
That's is so awesome .... I am gonna try this soon
Learned two great things from ya. Thank you 🙏
🥰 that's great!

If you get a ladle, the spooning will go so much faster. Also, you can wrap that bucket in a heating pad to help it get soft.
Super good idea! Thanks!
Super helpful! Thanks Ellen!

Congratulations on you first batch! I love both rebatch or confetti, they're both great "no waste" options!
That turned into a really pretty color! I have that mica and it is one of my favorites.
Thank you!
Soap-n-awesome! I’m loving it! Your awesome 😎. Great 👍 job Ellen. Thank you for sharing and I am going to try your “Whipped World” Soap! 🥰👏👏👏
🥰 thank you so much. I can't wait to try it again with a bit less liquid 😉

I love turquoise blues too💕

You're welcome. Just don't add as much liquid as I did...🤣
I am surprised this is cold process soap
Am in love! I now need a hand mixer 😜 Thank you for sharing ❤️ I learned something new. Blessings.
Thanks! I can't wait to try this again with less liquid next time..😉
Those turned out so beautiful. They look like turquoise with gold geodes. Very southwest. Love it!
Thank you ☺️ you're right, they do kind of look like stones 😆
Those look like Ferrero Rocher candies. Haha.
🤣 That's funny!
It's really pretty. You should have seen mine. Lol

Darn it. I did a rebatch and I used a manual mash potatoe tool. This seems so much better and easier.....

@@EllenRuthSoap Thank you so much!
Very nice!

If some of your shavings are fresh do you need to wait 4 weeks after rebatching before you can use it.
Good question! No, because I'm "cooking" it in the crock pot, so it's fully saponified and thru gel phase...

Yes, you can mix it with water. Just really watch the amount of liquid, this batch was way too wet, I shouldn’t have added quite so much liquid...
I love rebatching and yours came out beautiful. I was wondering, do you add all the ingredients of your shreds to the the bar ingredient label?
I don't sell my rebatch soaps, so I haven't had to label them... They are for friends and family😉
I love this idea! Love how the soap bars came out! How much fragrance did you add?
Thanks! I actually didn't end up adding any fragrance, it still had a nice overall scent from all the scraps😉
Thank you very much💕 this video came perfect. I have s lot of soap to recycle from my videos💕💕💕
Thanks! Just don't add as much liquid as I did, I think it will be even better next time with less fluid added😉
After I saw this video I tried to recycle my soap and it didn't work 😁 I don't have the cooker you have. How can 8 smelt it without this cooker? Thank you for your advice in advance
I did. I watched the video 5 times before I started😁 the problem is the soap doesn't melt😁

Can you use a different liquid than coconut milk?
Absolutely! I think you could get really creative with it!😉

How long did it take for the bars to really harden up? Once that happened, did they still float?
It took several days to get them slicable, and another week after that to really firm up... Yes, they still float😁
I've Rebatched twice and it comes out crumbly. Is it because I tried to whip and it already had milk or too hot in the crock pot??
That's a good question, and I'm not sure of the answer. Did you use sodium lactate? That might help...
Meatballs 🤔😆🙏❤❤❤ that's all I can think of. Lol
🤣 That's hilarious! thanks for the laugh!
How do you label the ingredients on something like this with so many different soap recipes mixed together?
That's why I don't market these, too many different ingredients. They're just for friends and family.
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you for responding.
Hello. With the sodium lactate, do you still add this if the soap already was made with sodium lactate in it?
Yes, it helps make it smoother and more fluid in the rebatch.
@@EllenRuthSoap Is it necessary to have sodium lactate, and if you don't have sodium lactate is there something else that can be used?
Did she say she added 5oz or 10oz
It's approx. 5 oz or less of liquid per lb of shreds
I love it! What temp ? Hi or low?
Thanks! I had the crockpot on low most of the time.
what temp do you have the soap on please and thank you
I usually have the crock pot on high until things get really melted.
@@EllenRuthSoap ty good job
How do you reconstitute your milk powders?
I add them dry to the oils 😉
What does the floating soap mean?
It means that you've incorporated enough air during the whip so it floats in the water... I don't do it often, but whipped soap is fun.
@@EllenRuthSoap Thanks.

Did the soap finally stop being spongy?

is it possible to only use water?
Yes, any liquid would work

🤣 I like that, gold nuggets!
I thought you were making the whipped soap that you put in jars lol
🤣 That's another video😉
This is completely different to what I thought it was going to be, this is just a rebatch
Yup, just rebatch. I love to recycle all those shavings.
Looks like granite rocks inside.

Ugly Ducking. Kids soap.
Yes🤣
