  • It's May and I'm trolling crankbaits for Crappie on Lake of the Ozarks. It's a crappie catching action packed morning! I'll walk you thought my setup in detail! The outside air temp started at 47 degrees, and warmed up to low 60's.

Great view , many trees. Wanna see you eat your food aw. Good luck . So how if rain , how about your mobile phone ? You have so many rod fishings. Have you tried fishing with square net that can be sank and pull up when you cacth the fishes in it? Good luck then.

I've got a couple of video's coming out soon where I do a catch and cook (and camping). :) I primarily video with GoPro's, but if it rains I would stop recording and cover my equipment. We can't fish for crappie with a net in Missouri, it's considered an illegal method here. Thanks for watching!

Good morning Cody! That looks like it was a beautiful morning to be fishing! Those bandit 300's look like great lures! Yeah, I have the Spyderlok rod holders! That was a great first catch! I always get at least one set of lines tangled when I troll! Wow, those were all nice catches! Great tips on how to reel them in once they are hooked! Always good to know the State regulations no matter where you're fishing! Once again, great attention to detail in all aspects of your video! Thanks for sharing and Semper Fi!

Y’all have some of the best lakes in the USA. Plus hardly any humidity like with have in the Housron Texas area.

Hi Alan, I can't argue we have some nice lakes that are great fisheries, and I don't take it for granted. Texas has some prime destination lakes that many Missouri anglers have on their bucket list of lakes to fish. Thanks for leaving feedback and watching, I really appreciate it! -Cody

I really liked your video. It seems to me a good 12 ft. crappie rod would be better one the the outside of each side. You sure put them in the boat. Keep it up.

Thank you. You're absolutely right, long rods on the outside then shorter on the inside. I just use what I have though and make it work. Ideally, running 8', 10', 12' and 14' rods on each side would be my setup of choice. I just don't troll enough to justify the cost of dedicated trolling rods.

Love your boat setup. I've never trolled for them before but I may have to give it a shot next time.

Thank you, trolling for crappie can be an absolute blast when they're suspended out in coves or even suspended over deep water near bluff walls. I really like these rod racks, but it wouldn't be hard to build some less expensive DIY rod holders. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
