What line counter reels do you like? I have some Cabela’s brand trolling reels but the clickers have started to slip if I pull cranks over about 1.5mph. Thanks for the great info!
It's hard to believe how far crappy fishing has come. I started in the mid 90s, we had to build everything except the Drift Master rod holders $5 at Walmart, reels were roughly $10. Seems like BnM rods were $30, 1 1/2" tube jig bodies were 50 for .99 cents. I put a trout net on a paint pole, had to weld 3/4" conduit for rod racks to mount the rod holders on. Build a speedometer with a refrigerator fan blade, no such thing as GPS. The good part was nobody else was doing it and very few knew how or shoot docks. We released the fish because we couldn't use that many. Today they're boat shy, jig shy, and not that many of em. I could catch a 30 fish limit on my dock back then, today my wife caught 4 with minnows... damn I'm old !?
@@CrappieMonster Thought so, I bought one 2 weeks ago just like you showed, have used a couple of times with no fish. So I started thinking it's to big. But you proved it wrong, so thanks and for replying. Good fishing bud....Mark
Did you ever pull # 5 flicker shads. That's the only way we fish for crappies. It works in Kansas, Iowa, Nebr, and the Dakotas. If you haven't tried trolling u be missing out. Good information. Just make sure the lake has white crappies in it cause that's what you'll be catching.
Great video a lot of good information Thanks

I purchased an outlaw net. Man that is the best net for crappie. The Cranks don’t get all wound up in the netting.
Thanks for your business. I’m glad you like it!
How long and where did you get the plastic pink measuring ruler? It looks like it will measure thicker/fatter fish than others on the market.
It measures up to 16’ I think. It’s a BnM Crappie Saver. Bnmpoles.com
Lucky. We get one lousy rod in Minnesota Great video!
muskyman26 thank you
Nice crappie man and cool video!
Thank you
great video. what depth of water were you staying in?

That orange or pink crankbaits you showed at the beginning, Looked bigger than a bandit 300. You using bigger than a 300 ?
Ctmobo Ctmobo yes they are bigger than a bandit by probably 3/4 of an inch.

No problem man. My main purpose here is to help teach the little that I know. Lol
What speed where you running? I enjoyed video.
I just heard you, thanks.
Does rising barometric pressure effect success when Pulling crank baits?
Ronald Phillips I haven’t seen a lot of difference up or down. Might have to vary your depth depending on the pressure.
@@CrappieMonster Thanks very much. I learned a lot from your video.
Love the video, do you troll for bass as well ?
I do not.
@@CrappieMonster You seem so proficient at trolling for the crappie, just curious, why don't you troll for bass ? Thanks .
Never really thought about it. Bass just really isn’t my cup of tea.
Did you use any weights with the crank baits?
I usually don’t.
What reel are you using?
Shimano from Walmart
what paint is that for your t-bars
I’m not sure honestly.
i may have missed it how deep are the crankbaits
They were running around 12’ deep
Daiwa makes great smaller line counting reel s
Will you do more how too videos?
Yes. We are actually about to start filming our new tv show!!! It will be all how to’s!
How many feet out do you have the 16 ft, 12 ft , 8 ft etc
16 was around 45’, 12 was 55’, 8 was 65’ and the other 8’ was 75’
How often do you calibrate your reels
I never have.
Why use high vis line for crappie ?
Just so I can see the line above the water.

How deep do the 5’s dive? Is it 9-12 feet
Who made your cranks
Jeff Jones Big 4 Custom crankbaits. He’s on Facebook
So cool you can use 8 rods in your state. Nice next level fishing!
What state do you fish?
Hey buddy just ran across your channel... Do you catch white and black crappie when trolling crankbaits.. My local lake has more blacks than whites
I mainly catch white when trolling cranks.
@@CrappieMonster you one heck of a Crappie fisherman
What pound test line you use thanks
Darrell Hickam 10# mono
Thank you very much
Man, you have to put a wind filter on the mic. Go content. Press On!!!
I went straight out and bought one right after this video.
This guy has a fortune in fishing equipment. Fish cost him around $300.00 per lb.
😂😂 it’s probably more than that!
Great content, but the wind noise was awful
For sure! I went straight out and bought a wind sock for the camera afterwards.
@@CrappieMonster I really enjoyed video, I love crappie fishing videos,,Keep em coming
